INSPIRATIONAL NEW GULF COAST CHOIR
PERFORMANCE KICKS OFF ARTSQUEST 20TH ANNIVERSARY
ArtsQuest is turning twenty, and the Cultural Arts Association is proud to commence this special anniversary at 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 4th with the inspirational voices of the New Gulf Coast Choir. This award-winning choir, made up of forty young people, aged seven and up, is a fine example of how the art of music touches the heart and changes lives, and the CAA is honored to have their participation in ArtsQuest this year.
The New Gulf Coast Choir, Inc. was founded by Michael and Mechelle Grady in August of 1997 to be a vehicle to assist young people with today?s challenges. True to their motto, ?Striving to meet the needs of the total child,? it currently assists youth in areas such as academics, social adaptation, performing arts and community service. The choir?s emphasis on the ?at risk? youth and its ?open-door? membership policy allows for easy access for all youth from areas surrounding Bay County.
In the past ten years, The New Gulf Coast Choir has performed for the Florida State Department of Justice, Florida State Arts Council, Florida State University Arts Festival, NW Florida Legislature Day, and the FSU-Panama City Campus Annual Awards Banquet. They have performed for non-profit events for the United Way, Red Cross, Bay Arts Alliance, and many local festivals. Additionally, the choir has performed nationally in New York City, Baltimore, Newark, Washington, DC, Nashville and Houston.
The New Gulf Coast Choir?s ArtsQuest performance, sponsored by H2O Properties, will take place on Sunday, May 4th at 3:00 pm at the GoodNews United Methodist Church located at 4747 US Hwy. 98 in Santa Rosa Beach. General admission seating is $15, and student admission is $10. Cash or checks will be accepted at the door.
