Pizza by the Sea Opens in Gulf Place

October 25, 2013 by Jill Tanner

Pizza by the Sea has always been yummy and fun - now it's twice as yummy and fun! The owners have opened a second location in Gulf Place, in the space previously occupied by Amore Pizzeria.

It's a comfortable spot and very kid friendly - just like the original location beside Publix at WaterColor Crossings. The new location in Gulf Place has plenty of tables in an enclosed space. It's got a really nice feel with string lights and colorful tables. The trademark hand-painted pizza pans are starting to spread across the walls.

Pizza by the Sea is a longtime local favorite - the crust is delicious, the toppings are creative, and everyone loves the atmosphere. Now the folks on the west end of Scenic 30A in South Walton will have fuller bellies.

"We have many locals who love us over this way," says owner Jason Beer. "We've already seen many of our friends down here who live on this end. Some have told us they come to our WaterColor location once a month or so because it's a little far to drive. I've already heard a few people say they'll see us every week now because it's more convenient."

Jason and his wife Kristi believe the town of Gulf Place is a great fit for their much-loved pizzeria. Gulf Place is popular and being right across from the Gulf of Mexico is one of the main reasons. Jason and Kristi knew Gulf Place was the perfect spot, because of their loyal following from the west end of South Walton and decided to answer the call for another location.

The newly remodeled kitchen has been expanded to accommodate large crowds, they repainted, added a large walk-in cooler, and modified the layout to help with service flow. Handmade benches were designed and built by their manager, Roy, to line the outside of the large deck, which can now seat 75 people. Jason and Kristi look forward to families and couples ordering a pizza and taking it to the Gulf Place amphitheater for a relaxing picnic or enjoying it right there on the deck.

Pizza by the Sea has homemade sauce, fresh cut veggies, and organic chicken and beef. If you need gluten-free, just ask! Pizza by the Sea is known for the best gluten-free pizza in town and made from rice and tapioca flour. The soy-free, diary-free cheese, Daiya, is available to replace any cheese on the menu if you need. Staying flexible, offering options, and great service, has kept pizza lovers coming back to Pizza by the Sea for years. Check out the new location in Gulf Place and get your YUM on!
