Last week, I joined the SoWal team for lunch at La Cocina. The restaurant has been open in its Seacrest Beach spot for over ten years and is well known for its Latin-inspired cuisine and great margaritas in a festive atmosphere. It's been high on my list of SoWal restaurants to experience, all of my expectations were fulfilled and more.

We have a lot ofgreat spots to catch live music in SoWal, but it's hard to match the atmosphere and intimacy of the REP Theatre main stage in Seaside. Every seat in the house is a good one, there's only 75, which almost gives it a living room atmosphere. Exceptional artistsin an intimate setting, with beer & wine served! Be sure to catch a show at The REP before or after dining at one of Seaside's excellent restaurants.

Visitors to SoWal spend a lot of time along Scenic 30A, and a MUST visit to Alys Beach is always in order. Located on the east end of South Walton (just west of Rosemary Beach), locals and out-of-towners are always amazed at the unique architecture, courtyards, green spaces, gardens and parks found within the Alys Beach community.

The most recent SoWal Real Estate Report covers all of Walton County including South Walton real estate activity for December 2019, with statistics for single family homes, townhomes, and condos in Walton County, Florida.
Single family homes closed sales were up 34% for December 2019 compared to the same month last year. The number of pending sales for Walton County was up .5%. Inventory was down 1%. Median sales price was up 16.4%. Dollar volume was up a whopping 75.8% over last year at $207 Million.
