Anyone know of any cheap fares from Dallas Houston Alanta or Wherever to Ft. Walton or PC ? I can get to either city from Phoenix but the flights from Phx to VPS or PFN are $550 RT normally. Once in awhile they drop to $350 but not recently.

Funny you should ask Goofer. I was on line all morning looking for fares for October from NY. I missed a good chance last month to leave from a small local airport to PNS for $69 each way! with airtran.
They also ran a 2 day special a couple of weeks ago to Atlanta for $69 then from there to PNS for $49. I was going to do it, but then worried about flight delays and catching the second flight.

I am going to wait till Tuesday and see what specials might be running aftre Labor day since I heard that many people cancelled travel plans due to the storm and we may see some specials after Labor Day.

aren't all the sites the same? The airline have a certain amount of tickets for a certain price? not one site is better than the other, right? or please tell me if I am wrong cause I am always looking to go to Baltimore (BWI) airport for cheap!

In general most of the search engines for flights are within a few dollars of each other. But now it seems that some of the airlines offer web specials that you may not get through the search engines.
I always check all of them that fly where I need to go.

I don't think all of the airlines are included on the search engines. For instance, I do not believe Southwest is listed on Travelocity.

This website is interesting. http://www.farecompare.com - It gives you a historical trending of airfares. Might be helpful if you are wondering whether a certain price is a bargain.

Airtran has great sales into Pensacola and the sales are fairly frequent. I was able to book $159 round trip from Pittsburgh a little over a week ago. :clap_1: You can also get on their sale notification e-mail list.

Tangent time- but still airline related---Bdarg flew down to SoWal this afternoon on Delta, through Atlanta of course. The phone rang about 4:00, and the caller ID said "Delta Airlines". I just went cold - the Comair crash was a little close to us and still a little fresh (and I knew 2 people on it- through old business, not friends, but still weird).

Turns out- his connecting flight to PCB was virtually empty, so they canceled the flight, and put him on another. What's with the empty planes?? And why did the seating chart look almost sold out when I selected his seat online??
