Anyone else see it? What first intrigued me about this movie is that they cast Jennifer Hudson as Effie White. She' s the girl that get's cast out of the "Dreamettes". I loved Jennifer when she was on American Idol. The girl could sing then but man, she showed the world that she can sing now! The movie was really good. I'm not a huge fan of musical movies but I loved this one. I especially enjoyed the costumes! There's 2 songs that are just incredible and the movie audience applauds. Oh, Eddie Murphy does a really good job of playing a "James Brown" type of character. Beyonce looked beautiful and super skinny. She must have lost quite a bit of weight for this part. Anyway, I recommend seeing it!

I was disappointed last season when Jennifer Hudson was voted off so early IMO. I always thought she was extremely talented. I preferred her to the winner, who BTW I can not remember her name.

I have been a fan of Dreamgirls since it was a Broadway show a couple of decades ago. I have all but worn out the album, (for the youngins- that's 12 inch vinyl) I wonder what took them so long to make the movie! I can't wait to see the movie, unfortunatley I don't think its playing in Panama City yet. When CHICAGO the musical came out I had to drive to Tallahassee to see it; a couple of months before it came to Panama City. I bought the soundtrack to the Dreamgirls Movie and love it. I'm glad it is getting great reviews. I guess I'll have to go to Tally to see it too. Is it playing in Destin?

Us, too. The year it opened on Broadway, we must have flown up three times to see it. Every time Jennifer Holliday sang "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going," we'd cry like babies. I hope it's playing in Destin. Wouldn't mind seeing it tomorrow.

BR - the movie isn't at RAVE. suppose to be opening nationwide Jan 19 though.

however, if you want to cry like a baby, go see Charlotte's Web....
