SJ....doesn't make sense that a package to Atlanta is about the same as a package to Europe.:dunno:

I realize this. The Priority Mail is a slight upcharge, but I still sent the package to Europe via First Class Postage. They propably sent the package to Europe by cargo ship. :dunno:

No..she's in Cyprus and Greece. She has been eating better food than I can send! But I may have to try to send a foodie care package to some SoWal friends. I feel a need to bake again.:dunno:

IWIWT.......Our daughter was in Florence last year....January through
May..... We had bad experiences sending things to her too....
Our first try was at our local Post Office and it was a rather
small package... The cost $200.00 insured..... She never
received it for 6 weeks... The customs office would not
release it and we had to call Senator Evan Bayh's office...
Finally, they got it released... They asked if we had in it
drugs, alcohol, guns, knives or food:rotfl: ?????????
The package contained, personal items, CD's, DVD's & PJ's....

The next time we tried Fed Ex and that worked great....three
day delivery time..... Also, we never insured it again for top
$$$$ because those seemed to take longer or she never
received them at all........
Fed Ex or UPS would be your best shot..... Good Luck!!!!!

IWIWT - I work in international transportation, but on the import side. In cases like yours, you may want to work with a freight forwarder rather than with a carrier directly. That way you have access to an advocate at your point of destination when things go awry. And often it's cheaper even though you are using a "middleman." That's because forwarders can negotiate lower rates due to the volume of business the give the carriers.
Linda, which freight forwarder do you work for? I was in air freight for a lot of years before my current job. I worked for AC Express and Eagle Global Logistics.
