Hey now, where's Watts Bar Resort Village? I've got a picture of the recipient of this letter[wife's grandmother} with a nice bass that won her a fishing tournament. Photo is from the Chattanooga newspaper 20 Aug 1954

Holy Crap! I guess it's about 50 - 60 miles (via the river) north of the Nooga. Maybe Spring City :dunno:

She caught her husband a delicious bass....Napolean Dynamite 5 lbs. 13 ounces

LOL! That is too cool. There are a few names left up there that probably still get that kind of treatment
I dunno. The town where I live is so small that the joke is that when you fart, everyone smells it. There are advantages to that. Sometimes when a package is addressed to me and the driver knows I'm at work, it magically appears on the desk at my office. All that is necessary for my return address is my last name and zip code.

It was in many ways a great time to out and about in nature. But outboard technology left alot to be desired!

I've seen letters addressed to my grandfather which didn't have the street address or state included on the envelope -- just the name and town. Of course, when I was small, we were on a party-line for phone service, and to dial a local number, you only needed to dial the last four digits.
