Thierry Muegler's "Angel," which smells a little like chocolate and is very subtle. It is in a blueish star-shaped glass container and has been around for quite some time. Every time I wear this stuff, people comment about how great it smells. Even my dog likes it! Chanel #5...Joy...Prada...?Nothing gets their attention like "Angel."

Does anyone remember the two most obnoxious scents known to mankind or womankind, "Tabu" and Revlon's "Intimate?"

you can add emeraude and chantilly lace to this list :puke:my mean old granny wore those and i just want to gag whenever i am unlucky enough to smell them

BINGO! That's it. Seriously, I don't like most perfumes, but that one stood out in a good way. Remember the Fab 5 rule for spraying cologne and perfume -- Spray (one spray into the air), Delay, the Walk Away.

HA! I still say that to myself out loud when I remember to wear perfume. (I have the good ol' no-roommate Tourette's Syndrome. I can talk to myself out loud!)

My favorite is Happy by Clinique, an oldie but goodie

Oldie? Honey, that ain't old. I still love Ralph Lauren's Lauren and Estee Lauder's Beautiful. (My mother still wears old-school EL--maybe White Linen? I always love smelling a woman walk by with it.) Every once in a while I'm tempted to break out the Love's Baby Soft--it has such a nice, clean smell to it.

And maybe I'm trapped in 1985, but Polo still makes me crazy. My best friend/first big crush in 7th grade got some for Christmas, and all through high school I could be found with my nose stuck to his collarbone. (I had no idea how much he must have loved me to let me come sniff his shirt at will...)

Love the fresh linen Lysol. My house gets a good coat of it every so often.

And yet, does not have one...
SJ scares me. When a woman reads the list of ingredients he uses to make his own pasta, she tends to realize that she has nothing to offer him that he doesn't have already...;-)

OL, I had been meaning to ask about the ornament myself, I love it!

Early in this thread was a remark/pic of Hai Karate. About 35+ years ago it came in a box at Christmas Time that converted to a Christmas Ornament. I think I still have a couple in the box of antique ornaments in the attic.

Now I'm curious. I want to start "hunting" the lower shelves of lower end stores for that and Old Spice. Just for giggles and grins.

Does anyone remember the Men's Clinique Fragrance before Happy? It was fresh and clean, and one of my all time faves, and it was discontinued. I think Happy is just a little to Happy for me.

I just google it, and I believe it was Clinique Chemistry. I could be wrong, I usually am. But this looks like the bottle. I loved it.

Speaking of scents which linger after the person have left, I used to know a couple of salesmen who would stop buy every week to collect orders. They would leave, then I would realize that I smelled like Brut, or some other splash on cheap aftershave. I always laughed about getting sucked into the handshake which caused me to take on their aftershave smell, but I soon began the habit of washing my hands immediately after they left.

Yuck!!! Even the bottle Brut came in was ugly...green with a medallion...so 70's...so Joe Namath:rotfl:
