Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings

Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes

I've been here so long I don't remember normal. I just know that we put up with the Winter and the Summer because the Spring and Fall are the best on Earth!

imho, winter is the best most greatest season there is.....the best day is when it is at least 0 out and snowing and blowing. why can't this be alaska ?

I finally went Snow Skiing a couple of winters in a row about a dozen years ago up in Seven Springs, PA. It was wonderful, magical, dreamlike, all white and fluffy and fireplaces and lodges and big flakes and night skiing and all the great stuff that goes with it.

I've been skiing there a few times. Although the last time I "skiied" at the bar - nice warm fire & a nice glass of wine. Much more enjoyable for me as I can't stand the cold. The wine festival there in August is more more funn!

OH! I forgot to mention one of my very favorite things about winter in sowal!!!!!

The Beach!!! we have it all to ourselves. and it's wonderfully cozy when the wind isn't too much, and you bundle up in your sweats and scarves, etc., huddle around a bonfire, cuddle up with your sweetie, and just hang out and eat. just be. talk about living in the moment.

Good idea! Yes, I would guess he was in his late sixties. Maybe a retired UPS exec since he was driving a $100,000 car.
