I'm in love with this little Italian joint. had lunch yesterday - wonderful pizza and delicious pasta with marinara (simple and delicious). served by an italian waiter who winked at me.:funn:

they also had lunch specials: veggie lasagna and some kind of soup (can't recall other specials). several salads and sandwiches.

will definitely make this my stop whenever I'm forced to go into destin.

Fat Clemenza's also has a take-out menu - on the front of the menu it says "leave the gun. take the cannoli. to go!"

I have eaten there also. Good food and very good service. It reminds me of NY.

Some friends that were in town 2 weeks ago ate there and loved it so much!! So they ate there 3 nights in a row!!

very reasonable prices too. large pizza $11-$15. $6 sandwiches. the most expensive thing on the menu is $19 veal marsala/dinner.

Two weeks ago you had to call early in the day to get a reservation for dinner- hopefully the season has slowed down enough to be spontaneous about going to Fat C's!

Finally- I made it Fat Clemenza's today! Toots is right- fabulous.

I had the pasta fagioli soup and bruschetta- both were "lick the plate" good. Tiramisu is on the menu, so of course I had to have it. Let's just say I won't be going to Fat C's without ordering it! I will let Toots and Punz weigh in on their food, but I did have a bite of Toots' cheesecake and it was divine.

The Fat Clemenza's peeps are wonderful. We met Dominic, Mimo (sp?), and Wendy, and told them not to be strangers on SoWal.com. The dinner menu looks great- lot of pasta, with some specials thrown in. I see an Italian dinner in our future!

OMG. where to begin on this little Italian restaurant that I have been waiting to enter my life for ages. I mean a real little Italian restaurant. Chicago Sicilians cooking up some really good stuff. Dominic is one of the Three Amigos, a very popular italian cooking class given by 3 guys, at Kitchenique that is really hard to get into - it is always booked up whenever it is announced. I did this class a few years ago - and it was so wonderful - when I heard Dominic had opened Fat Clemenza's I knew this place would be special. and special it is.

The lunch menu includes panini sandwiches, caprese salad and other salads, soups, meatball sandwich, chicken parm sand., etc. and today I had a caprese panini with the best french fries ever ever ever. I helped lick jdarg's plate of bruschetta, served on warm homemade italian bread - scrumptious.

I cannot wait to go to dinner and feast on plates of pasta and ravioli.

also, they have all homemade desserts - including canoli.

Dominic and others were so welcoming. Mimo, a partner, cooks the wood fired pizza and I am in love. need I say more. The place is small and really italian complete with black and white photos and music. the food is outstanding. the real deal.
