I'm gonna watch because I love seeing the clips, the glam, and the music.

But for the most part I can't root for any particular movie because I rarely have seen the movies that are nominated. I have a tendency to get anxiety attacks in movie theatres due to claustrophobia (my first was when I was 16), so I always wait to see them on DVD. The only nominated movie I've seen is Ratatouille because our daughter owns it. I know that American Gangster recently came out on DVD, and I want to see it, but I haven't had time to rent/watch it.

I haven't seen any of them either, BR. I'm pretty much of a shut-in. Sunkist went to see "No Country for Old Men" yesterday. Hated it. She said I would hate it too...too much violence. But, I do like to see the stars, the clothes, etc.

I am going to an Oscar party! Lots of snacks, drinks & good friends. Before the party starts, everyone votes on who they think will win & there are prizes afterward for those that got the most right & the most wrong. I don't think I have seen any of the movies that were nominated so maybe I have a chance in the "most wrong" category". :roll:

The only one of the nominated movies I've seen is "Michael Clayton". It was good, I'd vote for it.

I saw Eastern Promises with Viggo Mortenson. It was a good movie. He's up for a best actor award.

It is funn! Just a late night when you have to get up for work @ 5 am. I may have to leave at a respectable time so I am not paying for it all day tomorrow.
