this sounds interesting and worth a try - at least til I can get some lint grabber balls. thanks minnie.

those lint balls sound like something to try and maybe use regularly. we have a lot of dog hair around here too. a ton in fact.

I have heard good things about the lint mini grabbers, definitely get them if you can find them. I know WalMart carries them and possibly Target.

Let's talk dog hair too. I think I posted something about this ages ago. It drives me nuts. Tips, suggestions, advice for controlling it? I do brush Maggie, but not as regularly as I should. I even vacuum her at times.

lulu just loves a good vacuuming as well as a good brushing. the only thing I know to do is vacuum at least every other day, and keep my bedroom dusted - my allergies start to act up if hair and dander build up anywhere near my bed.

these dogs need to go live outside where animals are suppose to live. how did we allow them to just come in as pups and completely take over our own homes? :funn:

I know the exact moment that Maggie started living inside. It was when we were getting a new roof, and I didn't want them to let her out of the yard. It was hot anyway. She moved in and never moved out. Now, she does run this house. Our whole lives revolve around her. It's pitiful, I know. I'll just keep vacuuming, I guess.

I'll be checking out the lint-grabbers next time I hit a box store. With two cats and three dogs over here, the hair level gets pretty bad.

Can't blame it all on the animals, though...twice we've actually taken a vacuum to a repair shop, and twice the first question has been "So who has the long blonde hair?"

well, I have this book about dogs by the Monks of New Skete, NY. They are expert dog breeders and trainers, and all of their advice on owning dogs and training them is so wonderful and real and loving. I'll never forget their basic tips on training. just so perfectly in tune to the psyche of dogs.

however, one thing they do say is this: dogs are social beings and belong with the family - in the home - and in your bedroom (not necessarily in your bed) at night since they are pack animals and prefer sleeping in a "den" with their pack. if you want a yard animal, get a pig or a goat... that was their suggestion. and it made perfect sense to me. plus it helped me convince kurt that there was no way my little 10 week old baby chocolate lab was going to spend a single minute outdoors alone (she did spend her first night out on the back porch in her crate - and we both felt so guilty that she never left our side again as long as her little big self lived).
