Interesting thing about online communities- they are like real communities. The social dynamics are similar to real life.

In real life, if you constantly hammer at people, try to force your way into a group without going through the "getting to know you" stage, continuously annoy and insult others, pick fights, and break community and social rules, you probably will have a hard time in the community. I don't expect to fit or be accepted by every group of people I come in contact with- I kinda know who I have things in common with and who I don't. I wouldn't dream of trying to bust my way into being accepted by anyone- it's kind of a pride thing.

I was talkiing about this the other day in RL. Many posters are just passing through hence if one intends to stay he or she should generally ease into posting and observe the proprieties and social conventions of the regular board posters for a while. A certain number of posts regardless of content seems to be required before really registering on the board consciousness. Just seeing someone's name or avatar over and over, finally they become familiar and their posting maybe worth reading to comprehend, since it appears they will be around for a while. Of course there is always the tried and true method that relates to the H.S. days - find the biggest guy at the party and whip his ass (or try to). A rare few find success with this method.

I'm so lucky to be on the board tonight with so many of my wonderful friends. I'm right here. I love you guys and thank you for being you. You are the beauty that I choose to surround myself with and I feel sorry for those who don't know you.

My dad is doing wonderful. He will be returning to work the beginning of April. My mom is having problems now and they are doing a cardiac cath on her. I believe that the pains and abnormal heartbeats that she's having is strictly from the stress of the past year and a half. It's been phenomenol.

The good news is that my beautiful mom is coming up to sowal with me next week for a couple of weeks and OOB and I (and some of my peeps that will be here) will be able to surround her with love and strength, just have you have all done to me. I miss my sowal!
