this is the very bottom line of the entire matter. and this is a problem for obama, because I am hearing this from many conservatives. very interesting to me. though no real shocker.

CCK and others - if you have any interest in finding out more fo about the man, just for your own understanding, perhaps you can read one of his books.

I'm waiting for evidence of what Obama has DONE. I know what his BELIEVES, I know his philosophies, I know that he is a talented orator with a magnetic personality. I know he is a kind person, but I don't buy into all of it because it has been all words and no action. There are inconsistencies in his life history and there have been many inconsistencies in the last few weeks as he tried to get himself out of the jams he's in.

I know that he has sponsored various legislation, etc., in the Senate, but I'm looking for something that he has done that would qualify him for the adoration that he has from his fans.

Obama reminds me of someone running for high school student body president. He knows what to tell people to get their vote, but he has no idea how to get there and no grasp of the real pressures and difficulties of running this country. With all of his policy changes and entitlements that he promises, I feel like he's promising me a two hour lunch and four hour school day in high school. Sounds great, but it isn't going to happen.

The crux of the matter is that Obama is just a man. He is a "good guy," but he has his flaws just as all of the other candidates do--just as all of us do. I don't buy into the hype of his personality and maybe I have a more objective view than those who do. The issues and action are what concern me, and with issues and action, Obama falls far short of a person that I would feel comfortable supporting as President of the United States.

What legislation has he sponsored in the U.S. Senate? What has he done in the last two years? He has prepared for his campaign. Tell me something, anything that he has done to back up what he says.

As a supporter of Senator Obama , allow me to explain. Many feel that the country needs a new direction in government, one that unites the country not divide it. A government that works together to improve the country. As the Senator has said himself, this will not be easy and he may not be able to complete this change in his time but it is important to at least try.

Most people will agree that these are noble goals and i believe most would agree that the last 8 years have not even strived for these goals.

As far as experience and actions, I think it as been well documented that some of our least experienced presidents have been some of the greatest.

President Bush and his very experienced cabinet members have performed less than admirably in their planning and execution of the Iraq war.

Lastly looking at a candidates experiences to date is a very poor prognosticator of their actions once elected. Remember W ran as a compassionate conservative who wanted to isolate the US from entangling ties with the rest of the world. The senior Bush ran on his "no new taxes" pledge then proceeded to do the opposite. Clinton ran as a populist then dismantled the welfare system. My point being that a candidates judgment , wisdom and leadership skills may be much more important than his experience and previous actions.

one thing I do know about Obama is that he is very far from Bush on most issues/policies. making him automatically an excellent candidate, IMO. he has at least as much experience as "W" had in politics but I would not compare them any further than that.

all I ask for is a real leader who will not be a continuation of the bush administration, or anything remotely like it. and bush lied. :D the end.;-)

AND I will add that I look forward to having someone at the helm who actually will talk to other regimes, even if they may disagree with him/her. And whilst I think the mess we are in from a domestic point of view, I would galdly welcome a statesman who world view is broad and inclusive.

It's really amazing, you can actual get the upper hand in diplomatic matters on the international stage when you are in constant contact/communication with both friends and enemies--unfortunately, it appears as though the Bush Admin. deems it as a sign of weakness only, and therfore is unable to extract any potentially valuable info. that we could use to our own advantage. Truthful propoganda can be an invaluable tool in fighting any enemy.
