Thanks, for the info. Prices on the XTI will come down after the XSI is released on the 27th, and I will likely get a XTI as my replacement, unless you want to pitch in. The XSI has some cool features, but the xti will suit my needs just fine.

Okay, back to the smashing suggestions....

In a nice place
I need suggestions for ways to destroy a camera body, for the purpose of making a video with impact, so that everyone will watch it. Canon was not so nice, and wanted to charge me almost the cost of a new camera to look at the camera and clean it. :bang: I'd like to repay their kindness with a nasty video. The obvious ideas which come to mind are smashing it with a big hammer, cutting it in two with a sawsall, and squeezing it with a vice. Do you have any other suggestions for videos of the destruction of the camera?:dunno:

Maybe I could sell tickets to other people, allowing them to beat on it.

Go to United Rental and rent a 60lb Jackhammer for a few minutes. Tell them you need to see if it is strong enough for what you need it for. Get the Wide bit and get someone to video record you taking that jackhammer to it.

They will probably let you use it for free but if not it will cost just a few bucks and you should get the response you are looking to get.:dunno:

I would love to torch it, but that would surely release a bunch of nasties into the air.

On the Gallager thought, it would be interesting to put it on a treestump and whack it with a big ax. Better yet, does anyone have one of those mechanical log splitters which I could borrow?

Steam roller?

Frat boys, take it to Auburn give it to Phead and friends?

4x4 in the ground, long screw thru it, take picture daily as it falls apart. Make a time lapse of the pictures.

2 pieces of sturdy ply wood and a box crusher.

Soak it in fish guts for a week or two and throw it over the railing at Fudpuckers.
