I recently lost a fair amount of weight and two things that have helped me tremendously are: (1) always, always eat breakfast and (2) try to eat as much fiber as you can.

All kidding aside, can you share some of the things you've done to increase your fiber intake, maeby?

I try to eat a lot of fiber in the morning because it makes you feel full longer and lunch is when I tend to make my worst mistakes.

Kashi waffles are very filling and have a lot fiber. I eat them for breakfast with a little bit of Smart Balance peanut butter. I'm also a big fan of the Publix Greenwise Toasted Oatmeal flakes (3 grams of fiber) with soy milk, instead of regular milk. I also try to snack on plain almonds (3 grams of fiber). There are also a few fiber powder supplements that you can put in water or coffee. They don't have a flavor, so, as long as you mix them well, you can't even tell they're in your drink.

Try Fiber One Honey Clusters Cereal. I started eating it to lower my cholesterol. Didn't help the cholesterol but I do like the cereal. It doesn't taste like cardboard! 51% of daily fiber requirements in one serving. 200 calories with skim milk.

Or sticks? I'll have to try it. I was eating Fiber One when I was doing WW. But I haven't tried the honey clusters.

The SpecialK stuff has too much sugar and I need to get away from that.

Lots of fiber (and yumminess) in Cheerios w/ fresh strawberries, blueberries, etc. and Triscuits.

Had a dinner of Alaskan Salmon on Triscuits last night 'cuz after a FIRE brunch I'm usually too full to cook/eat a regular meal. ;-)

:rotfl:...not even in the womb? I applaud you and your efforts!!! I have felt like I have a little gainage from all the good food and drink the last two weeks. Luckily, that will end soon.:lie:

I have girlfriend that goes on a diet once a year and announces that she's going to get back down to her birth weight.

okay OL. you're doing good girlfriend. I say the scales are fine to use as long as you are using other measuring tools such as clothing and inches. I like to check into the scales but not more than once a week or less. in fact, I went to my girlfriend's this morning and we both weighed in and measured. we have til July 4th to meet our first goal. and after meeting our goal, we shall have a spa day!

she's doing south park :)lol:) and I'm doing mayo clinic pyramid eating plan.

starting today! shopping done, washing and chopping done, and this is what I've had so far:

1 c shredded wheat cereal with nonfat milk
1/2 c oj
small banana
coffee

tuna salad (water packed light tuna with small amt mayo, curry, salt & pepper, lemon juice) on toasted whole wheat bread, with tomatoes and lettuce.
baby carrots and yellow bell peppers roasted in garlic and a touch of olive oil.
herbal tea

pilates this morning, and regular water drinking.

tonight: cod with lemon, steamed chard, steamed green beans.

so far so good. but motivate me please to just stay on it!! I would be very happy with this food if it came with baguettes and butter!!!
