It seems that many people have read, or at least heard of, The Davinci Code. The same author actually wrote a much more exciting book, which never received the press coverage, Angels and Demons, which I am glad to see being made into a movie. I doubt it will follow the book too closely, due to some of the really horrific scenes. I see that two churches which were approached, have already banned the filming in their church. Cannot wait to see it.

Thanks to the really cool peeps who gave me the book for Christmas a couple of years ago. I love you all.

 Very interesting.

I didn't like The Da Vinci Code all that much (book or movie) but really liked Angels and Demons. I thought it was spectacular. It also made me want to visit Rome more than ever.

When is this supposed to come out? I'm too lazy to look it up.

same here, nohall. I found The Davinci Code to be rather boring after reading Angels and Demons. The entire book of The Davinci Code was more like a single chapter from Angels and Demons. I didn't see a release date, just saw something on Yahoo, noting that they were shooting the movie.

I also read Angels and Demons quite some time ago and enjoyed it. I was disappointed with The Da Vinci Code as a book and movie, as well as pretty much everything else Dan Brown had the fortune to write and I had the misfortune to read. May 15, 2009 for release date it looks like.

My son read both of these books while we were on vacation 2 years ago. (Yes, he was THAT bored and to be with his parents in the Bahamas, no less ) He said he loved the Davinci Code but after he finished Angels and Demons, he liked it so much more.

He's read the other books of Dan Brown's too and says they're just as good. It almost sounds as if the DC was his weakest book. :dunno:

Will and I read it right after Pope John Paul died- so it was very interesting to imagine the process of choosing the next Pope!

Kat,
There was a picture of that Forest Gump guy on the article. I forget his name, but you know who I'm talking about. He was also the star of The Davinci Code movie.
