Right here!
I disagree. The revolution has started already via grassroots efforts that Obama has awoken in us. Isn't that the seed of any revolution? We will, going forward, hold our politicians more accountable for their spending and their actions.

As far as Bush is concerned, most already posted his negatives. The veil of secrecy around his administration, the unchecked power of the executive privileges, lying to the public about WMD..... the list goes on.......and all I have to say is goodriddens.

People have been railing against Washington corruption and its inherent transparency issues for years. Very little has changed. (Pardon me Mango but I have to take a little offense to your insinuation that people are just now trying to change things.. I've been railing against Washington for years. Welcome to the party.) People feel powerless against it. We hear about the insider B.S. that goes on, we read about the bloated appropriations bills, the political infighting, etc.. Every now and then we send somebody new to Washington in the hopes something will change. Those folks get up there, start mucking around in the slime of government, and become part of the problem. If we really want to change what goes on in Washington, we need to remove its power - we need to curtail the strength and sway of the Federal Government and instead rely more heavily on local governments we have better control over. Fixing Washington is impossible, it's gone over the edge, never to return. A single president is not going to change that.

Yes, many mistakes have been made, but continuing to harp on Bush's shortcomings hwen he is only in office for 12 more days is not helpful.

The only reason to keep rehashing the past is to improve the future by not repeating the same mistakes, not to keep beating the dead horse.

Well, I have to take offense to your offense that you are the only one railing against government, and then telling me to welcome to the party.
(kidding- I don't care :D)
Exactly what have you done? results? Perhaps your frustration lies in the fact that you didn't see the changes you wanted. I, for one, feel that small grassroots efforts garner better visible results and also snowball.

I do not think Obama is a Messiah, but one, and I highlight one, of the reasons he was elected was he makes people feel empowered. More so than any other Presidential candidate. Whether that will continue in the form of grassroots efforts, ie; railing against government,(your words) is yet to be seen. Y'all were talking about a revolution. No, I don't think we'll see Congress tossed out by the People, but I do think a closer eye will be kept by the People on their elected officials going forward. I don't foresee any major changes, but at least the aristocracy we have been living with for >8 years will have less executive power.

And it is fine with me also that we disagree. I meant no offense. I really appreciate your input.

I see on this board, over and over, people say that Obama will have to deal with this "mess" left by Bush. I want to understand what this refers to. I see no mess left by Bush. I don't mean to judge. It is fine with me that some believe our country is messing up and needs to right itself. I really just want to understand those views different than mine.

I apoligize if you feel I was inferring your opinion is less valid than mine own. I don't feel that way.

:yikes:wow. have you checked out his approval ratings lately? I would think that most Americans feel there is quite a mess and they are not happy with the direction of this country. you can search this board and find many threads on this subject if you need a better understanding. have you googled "mess left by Bush"?

Bush was incompetent, and the result of his administration was no more and no less than what I and many had expected. but, its over. thankfully. I'm not interested in thinking about it or analyzing it one more day.

I'm beginning to think that when people on this board throw around the phrase "the mess Bush is leaving" it is really ust code for "I don't like Bush."

Yes, I have checked out the approval ratings. They were stupendous during his first term. I don't base my opinion on that of others.

How are these instances leaving a mess for Obama to clean up? Good examples of what you don't like about President Bush.

I am interested in what people perceive as the "mess" President George W. Bush has left our country in.

your original question as posed is quoted above. I didn't see Obama referenced there. Are you changing the terms of what you'll accept as an answer, or are the numerous answers indicating bush's ****ty performance have you questioning your adoration for him?

The videos referenced in my response show what I believe to be still unresolved issues that bush has just moved past, which seems to be sop with his management style. They(the videos) also indicate what a total buffoon I believe him to be. He has no grasp of the reality that the country faces. He is unfit to run a soda fountain. I still question how those of you who voted for him justified it to your selves.

You asked. If you really weren't ready for honest answers/opinions you should have not posted.
