so, we couldnt find anywhere to stay in the panhandle so we're gonna go to Myrtle Beach for spring break..any comments? we've heard from a lot of people that it will be funn but what is there to do? has anyone ever been?

I grew up going to MB.....spent many a spring break there......:shock:

You will be so disappointed. Once you've been to SoWal beaches, others may be wonderful in their own way, but they cannot compare to Northwest Florida's Emerald Coast with SoWal as the heart and soul. Look again.

Phead, Myrtle Beach is like PCB except that the beach and water aren't as pretty. Lots of souvenir shops. We went there for spring break our first year out of undergrad school when we lived in Spartanburg. BTW golfers like Myrtle Beach because there are a lot of cheap places to play golf.

Why don't you go to Hilton Head if you are going that direction? That's where we did spring breaks when we were in our 20's after UF grad school and back in S.C. where I was an assistant professor at the University of South Carolina.

As a frat boy, I don't think Phead is looking for heart & soul...;-) No, Myrtle Beach is NO SoWal...but it is a fun place for teens and college kids :shock:
