I love road trips!! Started at a young age driving the entire east coast trying to find surf! Have done a few 20+ hour trips. Love it! What a great way to see our country!

we drive everywhere. we'll be hitting the road thursday. we live about an hour from mermy, so takes us about 13 hours to get to sowal. we usually break the trip down into two days and stay overnight in athens alabama, but drive straight thru coming home.

Wow, Y'all are amazing! Who gets the prize for the farthest distance? I am five hours door to door.

Any flight over 3.5 hrs., I am getting bumped to up to first, if possible....although, near impossible on Delta these days. So, I totally understand not driving over six hours - we must have our standards.

Incidentally, the 4 wheel drive in the Ho is now operable!

Cheers~~~~~~~~~~~~

12 hours from here. Sunkist and I just decided tonight that we will break ours up too. Probably spend the night in Jackson or Hattiesburg on Wed. Arrive Thurs (23) around noon. Yippee!!! More time to "socialize". :D

At first glance, I thought you said "trying to find smurf".

Bless your heart. 20+ hours? Not moi. No way, Jose.

Not any more. It's jsut--pack all your stuff in, get in, start the engine and don't stop til you gotta tinkle. I've been to every service station between here and there--some several times. It's kinda sad that you try to schedule your tinkle stops to make it to the better service station in the next town.
Back in the day, we used to stop and be real tourists, but when you've seen one airplane, you've seen 'em all in my humble opinion.

Yeah, if I'm on a mission, I am moving down the road. Otherwise, there's always a cool yard sale on a back road!
