It was a typo. It should have been 2005. At that time Dennis wiped out our bluff. BTW, USAA did handle all the transfer paperwork to Citizens for me. I wonder if they'll do the same this time?

My Citizens prem. is el cheapo.....same for you?

Yes, fairly so but it is higher than my USAA premium was before they canceled. Now that the Citizens is being "reviewed" I have no idea what it will be. It won't be due until October.

I would hate to be as angry as you and some other people I see on this board. Citizens reworked their parameters and demographics.

wrobert, how much is your wind coverage, what style is your house, what year was it built, how many sq. ft., any out buildings, what do you think your personal belongings inside the house are worth and what % is your deductible? Let's do a comparison.

Your Citizens is el cheapo cause the rest of us are subsidizing it.

I think the final bill is for it to go up 5% a year for the next few years.

Thanks!

We will send up some tax revenues for you! :D

If you do not want to pay high taxes, move. Why should I subsidize your insurance premium?

I saw on the news today that Crist negotiated a better deal for everyone.

Citizen's rates are now going to go up 10% a year until actuarially sound. If that is even a word. Now the fight is going to be over whose actuary table they are going to use. And they are no longer going to fund the Save our Florida Homes program that was doing the free inspections and helping with grants to refurb the homes that did not meet criteria.

1. The wind can pretty much cover anywhere on my house, it is all outside.

2. dry

3. A long time ago, not sure when.

4. Not sure, it is a rectangle.

5. Indoor plumbing

6. More than money can replace.

7. Not sure. I know it is a percent if a hurricane and a dollar amount otherwise.

Great answers. No argument if you can't open your books for comparison. But, if you need to believe YOU are subsidizing my premium, then that's what you need to believe.

:lolabove:...you can't get rid of me that easily! Who said I was complaining about high taxes? I LOVE my taxes in Florida! Beats what I pay back in the Country of Texas! You should subsidize my premium because, well, you love me!

After Gov. Crist great negotiating, seems to me you would be ready to send him down the road, but I am sure 10% was better than the initial number of up to 40% that was initially mentioned. So Gov. Crist kept his promise, insurance rates have dropped like a rock, if only in his mind.
