MANgo and I have tickets for his show, in Sept., when he does his US tour. Anyone ever see him perform before? He does things with the violin I've never seen before and has been playing since he was 4 years old. He also played with a major Philharmonic by the time he was 8.

“David Garrett is already the stuff of legend - in him is enshrined an entire corpus of virtuoso violin art, expounded with a fearsome beauty beyond comprehension.” BBC Music Magazine

With the demands of his fast-burgeoning career and an ultra-intense focus on classical music, David had barely heard any rock or pop music until he was a teenager. “I’d listened to nothing but classical music until the age of fourteen,” says the now 27-year-old David, who was home-schooled until that age. “So when I started going to regular school, and started to be exposed to all this pop and rock, it was a revelation.”
As a result, David has carved out a unique and wholly new artistic path, one that pays as much homage to Metallica as to Mozart.

Did I mention he is also soft on the eyes? :D

I have his albums. Thunderstruck is good, but not my favorite. It's a little monotonous for me. It's perky though and gets the audience stomping.

I love his rendition of Freddy Mercury's- Who wants to live forever. Never thought I could listen to it without Freddy singing, but this is awesome.

Cutie Pie! Thanks Mango........I will see what his tour is.

I wonder if y'all would enjoy the 5 Browns? They are classically trained five siblings that play together (5 grand pianos on stage)......delightful!

I can't listen to it without crying. He can make the violin sing. I'm going to try and catch one of his concerts ....maybe Atlanta.
