Happy Fathers Day to all you fathers and to all that still have their father go see him, call him, do something he likes to do(even if you don't). He want be here forever. Ask him all those questions that you have been waiting for the right time to ask. Ask him about those strange relatives :cool:and strange places he might have mentioned in passing that you had always wandered about. If you don't you may never know the answer. :dunno:

For those whos father is gone here's a video that is a little sad but always brings great memories for me.

Thanks so much for posting that. You are SO right about spending time, asking questions and doing what HE might like. Sorry for your loss.

I too, lost my dad 3 yrs ago August. Lost him on the morning of my father in law's funeral. Rough time.

I would give anything to have one more day, 10 more minutes, anything! Sure, I have wonderful memories, but death is so final.

I miss him - we talked every day after my mother died. :sosad:

Here's a pic of me and my dad oh back in the late 60's I guess. He always wore a Japanese robe - he was stationed in Japan during the war. This was C'mas and our dog Pablo was modeling his Santa suit and me, my new coat. Great memories! Thanks again.

Thanks! My whole family is 1700 miles away on my day. Thinking about going up and petting some dogs at Alaqua to pass the day.

Father's Day is difficult for me this year.
My Daddy was in an accident recently that resulted in a brain injury. He knows his name and his birthday, but he doesn't know any of his kids or his siblings. He can't keep his balance but won't use a walker. He doesn't know to turn the knob to open a door, but he beat me arm wrestling and could easily break your hand with a handshake. He knows currency, but doesn't know what year it is. Sometimes he's quite funny, other times he's quite mean.

The girls and I had just visited 2 weeks before the accident. He taught Jackie how to hold her hands to catch a ball and they played catch in the living room. He called them both "baby girl" and fed them little bites of chocolate that he broke up in his hand and made faces to watch them giggle and scrunch up their noses at him.

My Daddy is a tough old West Texas Cowboy and loves old country music. Thanks for posting that video.

I think of him every day and I cry a lot wondering if I'll ever know him as I did before. I miss him.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there.

I breaks my heart to hear your story. That must be so difficult for you to watch. Such a cute story about the chocolate. Keep those memories - that's what will get you through this.

Let us know how he does. I hope with all my heart he recovers fully.

How sad - on Father's Day! I just can't imagine you getting that call so shortly after you spoke with him.

Oh my but what a darling couple your parents were!! :D

Thanks for sharing that photo and your story.

I wish you all a fabulous Father's Day Celebration! Even those who aren't Daddies - you've been a Dad to someone along the way.

Lost my Daddy in the 70's to a long, painful illness......it's a miracle I was even conceived!
Every night before I went to bed, Daddy asked me to play music for him.......I always did and still do play with my hair........it was music to him! Miss you, Daddy!

Well this seems like a good forum about everyone loosing their fathers....
I lost my dad 3 years ago at the age of 55 from a heart attack.

It's tough, and it does not get any easier as the years go on. All you can do is keep your head up and know that you need to do your best because the dads are still looking down on us!
Hope everyone enjoyed their sunny Sunday!
