I like the fact that these men obviously do not value (at all) the institution of marriage, its sanctity, or their personal vows, yet they're the first to speak up loudly against gay people making a legal marriage committment --maybe they are actyually being "selfless" and trying to warn the gays, from their own example, that their struggle for marriage equality really isn't worth it--cause they know the pitfalls first hand!

Oh absolutely. Spitzer was using that as a cover, but he's an exception. You don't hear nearly as many on the left getting all preachy. They're afraid karma will come back and bite them. I shake my head and laugh when I think about him. When an ultra right winger gets caught, he gets all teary eyed and blames Satan or whatever. The pattern is undeniable.
