I was going to use this thread title on my standard time rant, but it seemed more fitting for what's been on my mind lately. SoWal.com.

I guess you could say you had me with the Penis Cake thread. From that moment in time when I stumbled upon this wonderful, wacky, informative, goofy, insane, infuriating, maddening, uplifting, creative, sometimes naughty, always intelligent place called SoWal.com, there was no turning back for me. I had found a new family, but I didn't know it at the time. I kept reading threads and I kept thinking, "I've GOT to meet these people!". And met you I did. A lot of you anyway. There were so many days when I couldn't wait to get online to see what the Funns were up to, what RO and Darlene were talking and arguing about, Landlock's evolving tar, the evolution of Sueshore, Darlene's Friday Funnies and Kurt's gorgeous photos.
But, it seems we've lost the funn somewhere along the line. I realize things change, and SoWal.com's no different. Maybe it's a slump, an evolution in itself, maybe a changing of the guard. All I know is that I don't rush home to check the Lounge any more. There are days I don't post and some days I don't read much. You all know I don't frequent the PCE forum and I know there are those who don't frequent the lounge...that's cool. But, I miss those old Lounge Lizards and all the funn we used to have. It makes me sad and it makes me wonder....
do those folks still lurk? Is LL still out there, did Skelly ever get a real job, is Kimmifunn still meeting celebs, will we ever have an ornament exchange again or is OL even still speaking to us, has SJ gone over to TripAdvisor, where is dbuck, will Miss Kitty ever post again, does Audie still love winter, is Mangy still Extreme Ironing, will we ever S/D/C again, will I--before I die-have an animated tar again? Why did we stop using the term bat turd and will we ever have another thread that was as funn as the PC thread?

No one is over there either except for the drug pusher thread, which started here I think, has had posts deleted and now a new title? And, I don't know where the original thread was, but it's all very confusing.......new rules perhaps?

Is there something about MK that I missed somewhere? I know I not been as active as some of you but I agree with your thoughts. It seems like things have taken a more serious turn and there have been more digs at people and it has not been as friendly. I know things change as they progress but the forum has taken on a different personality lately. I still will continue to read and lurk and post when I fell it is warrented but it is also sad that there has been such a drastic change.

I blame a combo of facebook distracting people w/ other funn and rude politricks................most discussions and threads get taken over by a few people (from both sides) who turn everything into a rude squabbling clusterpuck that makes everyone else lose interest.

Hopefully good use of the ignore button, the Xmas ornament exchange, and funn lounge threads can turn it around!

First post for me in a while, a long while. I saw somewhere on FB that there was a nice post by DD and I had to come read it! Hey DD!!

I do miss the good old days that is for sure. However, like life, things change. Sometimes good, sometimes not so much. Not saying that the changes here are bad, well just different. SoWal.com has grown so much over the years and more and more people have found us. Which is a good thing for the most part. In the last month I have seen two SoWal.com stickers in my neck of the woods. Don't know who they are though. I started to chase a car down the other day, but I would have been late getting back to work. Damn work!

Anyway, I miss the funn's, I miss LL, I miss OL, I miss dbuck, RO I sure miss giving you a hard time that is for sure! I miss a lot of what it was, but I have to say I have made some lifelong friends here that I keep in touch with via phone, email and visits and I would not trade that for anything in the whole world. I love you all and I hope you know it.

SoWal.com will always have a special place in my heart, always. I may not post as much as I once did but I do lurk from time to time. Time is precious these days and I have to make the best use of it. But, I will never be able to walk away for good.

Geez, I rambled didn't I? Anywho, I leave you with this.

All of us experience change in our lives. Change is the one constant in our lives. There are changes that we look forward too and change that we fear. However, one thing is for sure. Things will not stay the same no matter how much we would like them too. When a life change occurs, we have two choices in how to respond. We can despair that a change has come and assume that things will be worse, or we can look with excitement at the new possibilities that the change presents.
