What are you craving?

what are you craving now? comfort food, drink, candy, snack, or whatever it may be. (maybe its a cuddle or a kiss).


last week it was cornbread - the big fat southern skillet kind. oh, it was so gooooood.

this week its saltine crackers with butter. real butter. I haven't had those in so long I can't remember. seems like it was what we used to eat in restaurants when waiting for our food to arrive.

maybe they are winter time cravings. my cold has not dampened them in the least. if anything I am hungrier.

oh, and coke. craving it all week.

my next craving may be Modica's chicken & dumplings. I hope it is anyway.

Up until 20 minutes ago homemade beef stew. FBB was cooking on all afternoon in his dutch oven. I smelled so delicious and it was! Beef stew, crusty ,chewy multi-grain bread, and a salad with Dijon-vinaigrette dressing. Oh my, it was like heaven! Best part, we have leftovers!

Believe it or not, Annie's on 331 in LA (lower AL). The clams are the closest to Howard Johnson's "tendersweets" that I have ever found. Is that place in Opp or Luverne- I can never remember. If I am going by and it is anywhere near a mealtime, it is CLAM CITY!!!

We bought a beautiful loaf of homemade bread at the Seaside Farmer's market today, and I am now George Foremanizing some sharp cheddar cheese sammies right now.

oh, we stop at Annie's in Luvurne all the time (over many years). the kiddo likes the fried shrimp or fried crab claws. I usually get the cat fish. but will get clams next time. they have the best ice tea.

hot homemade bread with real butter. you can't get any better than that.

if you just happen to be out of homemade bread, get a loaf of publix Chicago Italian bread - pre-sliced. slather with butter (of course). eat. yummy. we actually serve it as an appetizer around here.
