Blue Mtn Beach!!
I was blown away by deer tracks right on BMB. What would draw them there? Can't drink the water, nothing to eat. Were they just playing? Anyone ever seen deer on the beach or like me, their tracks?

Thanks
G

Yep, I've seen pics of deer on the beach at Topsail. It's just part of their environment if there are woods adjacent to the beach.
very cool to see i imagine.

Thanks! I was imagining them just running and having fun. Can't think of much else they'd be doing but having a clear stretch to just frolic :D Maybe one day I'll actually see them and even get a photo. Could happen!

I too have seen them in Topsail. 3 or 4 at a time. Probably curious as to what's making all that noise up over the top of the dune. Deer may enjoy a nice sunset too.

How sweet to imagine them enjoying the simple pleasures....

Here's a photo I found on the internets. It isn't local but it is worth seeing.

Apparently quite usual for deer. I've seen old photos of Seagrove from the 50's with deer on the beach.
Was camping at Cape San Blas a few years ago. Lying on the beach in the sun one day, I "felt" someone looking at me. I opened one eye and it was a deer, close by and right there on the beach, staring at me.

how was the camping? I've been there a couple times but not for camping, but thought that it would be a great place to camp. Let me know if it's worth the drive.
