Doesn't the change to the student loan system only cut out the middle man (because the money was already coming from the government) and save us money in the long run?

I voted for Obama along with many of my friends so he could bring our Country together. I truly believe we are more divided now than anytime other time in my lifetime. Are Republicans guilty? Maybe. But I voted for what i thought was a leader. You have to point the finger at those with all the power not the other way around. Why blame those that have no impact on passed policy?

The truth of the matter is Dems have held a majority of both houses for many years now. Republicans could show up naked wearing black socks and it wouldn't matter. It's simple math not smoke and mirrors folks.

I feel I was duped by a lying President and propaganda infused media. Did anyone out there realize also included in the healthcare bill is a complete takeover of the student loans system by the federal gov't? If you need money for school the Gov't will now be deciding who gets it and who doesn't. Seriously what is going on???? Why slide this in and why isn't the media covering it? I saw this posted in a friends private blog.

You are telling the truth bro. You have to stop watching Fox News immediately before the truth further posions your mind.:sarc:

I don't watch Fox but perhaps I should start.

Why do liberals hate Fox news?

My understanding is the Federal gov't regulated just over 50% of student loans prior to todays vote.

Expect to see Obama's approval rating go back to the 50s very quickly after this passes. Part of his problem now is with his own base, but they'll soon be a little bit happier.

Yes. I used the William Ford Direct Loan program in grad school, and I feel like it was a better program than the mister's routed through banks federal student loans.

one trillion for the wars....let's see now, where would the money be better used?

yeah, and where was the party of no then...and where were all those "true Americans" aka the Tea party...

why is it okay to run up the deficit to wage a war, but not okay to help people who need insurance.....

You Democrats have all your slogans and soundbites down but I would rather say no to a disaster than be the party of "me too" as the country goes down the toilet. Republicans got into trouble in the last 10 years by abandoning common sense and the Constitution and going along with the crowd.

And your Repubs don't have slogans and soundbites...:rotfl:
I suppose it was a Democrat that said "Baby Killer" last evening....right...

Republicans got into trouble because of their errogance towards others and lost control. Now the democrats will feel the same....

Both sides have been guilty of this power trip and will continue to do so as long as we have only a two party system.
