I never thought I'd be so entertained reading a thread about tomatoes. :D

So do any of the farmer's markets = Seaside, Gulfplace have tomatoes now? This thread I believe started before those were in existence.

I am growing my own here in LA - both outside and hydroponic in a greenhouse with fans - the hydroponic are 3 times the size as the ones outside btw. They are huge.

I will be leaving here in the middle of gardening season which will leave me an emotional wreck - everything will be coming into play. So while renting in SoWal while house is being finished I will be depending on produce markets and stands and grocery stores (and new friends )

Has anyone been to any of the farmer's markets and if so can you give me a run down? Oh and do any of you get the Off The Vine produce boxes?

Thanks for any help
G

our little potted maters are producing! Happy days. They are super yummy! Mrs. Hop and I are going to try the upside-down tomato thing...:D

I think they'd actually be pretty under the edge of the deck, if you have enough sun there!

Dad figured out that if he puts a rag on the top of the basket (where the plant usually is) the plant doesn't dry out/wilt as quickly.

Toni's (in Grayton and at Seaside FM) has regular tomatoes, the smaller oval ones, and green tomatoes.

Oh THANKS Yarmap! That was so great to watch/listen to! He was such a great song writer. He really connects. Kinda bittersweet when he talked about death and not being buried in some cold cemetery, but to put him in the garden where he could "push up home grown tomatoes."
