Well this is interesting, democrats elected a guy they knew nothing about, through a party line vote, to be their nominee for the Senate in South Carolina. Turns out the guy was charged with displaying pornographic images to a minor recently and will likely go to jail.

A Democratic candidate without a staff, raised no money, has no platform, never met his opponent, and wins an election. It sounds like the Republicans may have rigged the voting machines. Again.

I'll explain how he won the primary. He received more votes than the other candidate(s).

All kidding aside-
the only thing I can think of is that folks are fed up with incumbents and anyone already known in politics. Or perhaps they just didn't like his opponent and voted "other" which in this case was Greene.

He's the best democrat candidate if you are Jim DeMint. Does South Carolina have closed primaries? I have never understood why democrats could vote to select the republican nominee and vice versa.

No...he wasn't, but now he's their only candidate. They made their bed. Now, they have to lie in it.

Doesn't sound like the Democrat party is going to help him out at all going forward...

I'm really starting to feel kind of sorry for this guy. He seems like a kid who did something on a whim and now he's sort of got this deer in the head lights thing going on. The dem establishment is slamming him hard with all sorts of ugly claims too. Pretty unfortunate situation.
