This pup doesn't have a name, yet? Oh my!
I like Sam. I know a big dog named Hank......it's cute for him.
How about the town where you got him? A friend found a cat in the flowers in MS, so they grabbed her and named her Flowers. Then, they learned she was a he. So, he became Mr. Flowers.

Winston it is!!! okay, let's move on. How is the potty training going?

Well, we are progressing. Last night I decided to put his crate (that he hates) beside the bed with the top open. This would keep him confined but I could still reach down and pet him when he started whinning... wait no WALING  about being in the create. It worked! He finally calmed down. 1:30 he spoke up, so I took him outside and he did his bitness. Took him back to the crate and his protest was way less. Of course I'm feeding him praise and treats the whole time. He spoke up again at 6AM when I usually get up and all was good.

I'll tag on another pup onto this thread...

Back on July 12th we lost Ali, our 7 year old bullmastiff, to a sudden heart arrhythmia. We were lucky that it was peaceful as she went to sleep and didn't wake up.

While we were down in Sowal two weekends ago Mrs SC's sister called letting us know that her neighbor in Asheville, NC was looking to place her 1-1/2 year old Redbone Coonhound with a good home rather than put her into a shelter. I wasn't initially receptive but was worn down. That being said, last Friday I picked up Dixie. She's a sweetie and is adjusting to Maximus. We're not out of the bully biz and are getting a bullmastiff pup in Jan / Feb, but they are just big couch potatoes with about 15 seconds of endurance. Mrs SC can go running in Kennesaw National Park with Dixie which is something she's always wanted to be able to do.

So, here's the new girl. Not that great a picture because it was sent to us via cell phone. I doctored it up as best as I could...
