I'm not sure what you are saying? Do you really think Meek still has a chance, if all the Dems vote? What if Crist chose to drop out? I sure wish they meet and realize that Rubio would be the worst thing to happen to Florida. If it comes out Rubio and Rick Scott, I might join Bobby in Calif. and start a pot farm.![]()

I can live with that. I call my Congressman, Senator, everyone else's Congressman and Senator whenever I think they say something stupid. That is a lot of the time! I am not naive enough to think it really does any good but the number of calls may have an effect. The main thing is it makes me feel better and on many occasions irks the daylights out of the staffer or intern answering the phone.Sadly, it isn't over on Tuesday night. There's apparently some sort of legal clause about how the organizations that fund those interest group ads have to spend down money on public service programming or something like that and we're supposedly going to get a whole slew of 'all your congressman and tell them that..." ugly ads from then until the new year.
I may be wrong, but I think you hit it directly in your last sentence. The PACs seem to be the ones running most of the negative ads leaving the "I am a good and wonderful candidate" to those actually running. Alan Grayson's ad against his opponent was one of the most despicable negative ads I've ever seen. As a consequence, I have paid no attention to ANY negative ad against any candidate. It is my fervent hope the majority of voters are smart enough to do the same but I seriously doubt it. Regardless of whether you like them or not, they appear to be effective.Question - can politicians sue each other for slander/libel?
Both sides are running ads that contain outright lies and I would really like to see some accountability.
Or is it too hard to prove because they are hiding behind PAC's etc. ?
Florida Gov. Charlie Crist would caucus with Senate Democrats if he wins Florida?s three-way U.S. Senate contest on Tuesday, a close advisor told Washington Wire Friday.
?Crist is going to caucus with the Democrats,? Mr. Morgan said. ?I don?t think there?s any ifs, ands or buts about it. It would be, in a very tight year, almost like a Democratic pickup in a solid Republican state.?
