Man takes hostages, shoots at Bay County School Board meeting

Starting a little after 2 p.m., the man addressed the school board briefly, before using a can of red spray paint to paint a large "V" with a circle around it on the wall of the building. The man pulled out a gun, and released the women and children from the room, taking the others hostage. Tensions built while the man questioned the school board. Shots were fired, and SWAT teams responded and burst in.

One man has been taken out of the School Board offices on a stretcher and appears to be dead, according to a reporter on the scene. The reporter was told the only injured person was the gunman.

No citizens were injured, according to the latest reports.

That sure as hell doesn't help her find another job!

Seriously, has ANYONE ever taken a former employer (or anyone) hostage and gotten their job back or gotten a better one?

I sure hope they don't have kids. :sosad:

edit:
This is now front page news on MSNBC. They are reporting that Ginger whacked the guy with her purse, so between that, the spray paint, and the gun the comments are a predictable cluster.

One of the school board members tried to knock the gun out of his hand with her purse, it's on channel 7 right now.

Wow, they cut it just as he leveled the gun at the superintendents head and started to squeeze the trigger. Salvage Santa took the gunman down.

Channel 13 is showing the footage now. Apparently the gunman's wife was a teacher for Bay county and was laid off or fired.
