There are better scooters out there. My father in law had 2005 Vespa and I have a 1983 Yamaha Riva 180, The Yamaha balance better the Vespa and is quicker. I would get newer Honda or Yamaha scooter before I would get Vespa. That my $.02

Thanks for the advice. I 've looked around. The Vespa I bought is an 05 2 cycle. No fuel injection, no 4 stroke 4valve technology, and about one third less fuel efficiency. What the bike has in spades is robustness in frame construction, a higher ride height, a bit better ride that helps in the brick streets I'll be traversing, and unrivaled resale value when I upgrade to a higher displacement beast. In my opinion, buying a bike with a little depreciation wrung out of it and low miles is the way to go. I'm also quite impressed with Sym, Kymco and Chinese manufactured Piaggio bikes. If I did not have a neighbor who only put 500 miles on the bike in 5 plus years of ownership, I may have ended up with a honda or yamaha. Heck, I'm looking for a second scooter wife.org can ride as well.

"wife.org" pretty funny...be careful about punctuation...wife:eek:rg can be misconstrued...
