Well, Spring Break is officially here! So far so good. Plan for huge numbers hitting town next week! I hear its going to be more spring break visitors in one week than we've ever experienced before (we know that huge numbers are on break and within driving distance during that week). After seeing a brief article from Panama City Herald, I am thinking it very well could be true. Panama City Beach will be rocking and SoWal will likely be jumping.

You know the drill - go to Publix well before Saturday, go out to dinner very early, or just go out and get right in the middle of it all and be on spring break vacation yourself and enjoy!!! just be careful out there.

Data was distributed Thursday that showed that over 2 million spring breakers were up for grabs during the two-week period of March 6-19, while 173,000 students were off during the first week of March and only 51,000 during March 27 through April 2.

I know Alabama is coming next week and I believe Georgia. Anyone else have any details on nearby school spring break schedules? Or any good tips for locals and/or visitors during the next few weeks for safety and good fun? What are SoWal bookings looking like for the next several weeks?

PCB has the National Guard on alert. They've only done that 1 or 2 other times. Brace yourself Effie!

Mississippi State is this week, and I think also Auburn, Alabama, and Indiana U. I'm just going by who's been down there whenever my daughter has been there. She just called and they were all screaming because they just passed the Destin Donut Hole--yum.

Yep, just drove home from Grayton to Seagrove. Some of those balconies were as over crowded and rowdy as any on PCB. :-/

Picked up my son from work in Seaside at 10:30 Friday night. As I went around the circle saw two deputy SUV's. The hood of one of them was completely covered with confiscated beer bottles, wine cooler bottles, and drinks. I'm glad they are keeping a watchful eye and trying to keep things calm. Kiddies, have some fun but wait until you are old enough to drink. Older kiddies, enjoy your drink but stick to walking!

The Natty drinkers and the Bud Light drinkers are currently tied in the Casa Scooterbug yard debris contest.

And those foam earplugs from Publix are worth every penny.

It was a busy week here by Eastern Lake. It's hard to remember the last time that Chelsea Loop and Ryan Street were so fully rented. It was mostly families, but we got a higher portion of college kids than usual - don't know if the rental agents are getting greedy or lax, or if the kids' folks were just more creative in sneaking them by. Fortunately, most of them partied so hard last weekend that they were pretty docile for the rest of the week.
