I would love to be involved in starting up a Thai restaurant! Something small with the best authentic Thai food, reasonably priced, decent portions..... can't do it on my own, I have a limited amount of money to invest.... bring my business development, marketing background and strong work ethic to the mix!!

Any suggestions and input appreciated!

Start with an authentic Thai chef search. You will need at least 1, likely 2, and 1 assistant.

I have a friend who has done that kind of thing and has lost money - it's a great but somewhat expensive and very complicated idea.

We love Oishi and recommend it too. Went to the new location recently and the portions were a nice size and the food was very good.

I proposed to a Thai chef once in the middle of a meal ... down on one knee .... My wife didn't object.

At least it was a lady.

Seriously though it might be cheaper to hire a live-in Thai cook than to start a Thai restaurant.

Kurt, I would like to put the word out to find a chef who cooks authentic Thai! Where can you suggest to begin?
