She is also paid $80,000/yr to do her job, part of which is issuing marriage licenses. There is nothing in her job description which states she can selectively do that job.

Well, for starters, she's an incredible hypocrite, and I'm still thinking she swore on a Bible to uphold the law. So, does her double hypocrisy cancels out the Westboro's double hypocrisy, or does it quadruple it?
I'm not sure Westboro is hypocritical. They are sort of a literal Biblical morality bot. I think that's what is funny about the whole thing. I was taken by surprise, and yet it makes perfect sense from their twisted standpoint. I listened to an interview of Megan Phelps-Roper, granddaughter of Fred Phelps. She broke away from the church. Everything WBC does is really out of kindness and love according to her. They are truly afraid of Hellfire and want to save people and this country. She has done a complete 180 and comes across today as one of the most enlightened people I've ever listened to. I highly recommend this podcast.

Maybe she'll come down to the beach now that she's out. Mike's got that little beach bungalow in BMB she could use. Might even sleep enough for all of her ex-husbands?

What I've heard about her so far..... She's a Democrat. Elected official. Recently involved in the Baptist Church. Married and divorced multiple times. Children from different fathers. Her position paid ~$80,000/yr. She won't issue marriage licenses to homosexuals.

Damn. She doesn't fit in to a prepackaged group. How are the pundits going to handle this? :mindblown:
Religious fanaticism is a mental illness and/or a symptom of the mentally inferior controlled by others.

You don't necessarily have to be "mentally inferior" to be an honestly religious person, but the shoe fits when it comes to religious fanaticism. And the politicians who pander to this, (I didn't say Huckabee, out loud, did I?) have no conscience at all. Supporting religion over the Constitution and the Law as decided by the Supreme Court, seems about nuts as you can get.

"God told me to do this." Isn't that what the 9-11 terrorists said and the entire rationale behind ISIS? I think we should change the national slogan from "In God We Trust" to "Just Do Your Job".
when God shows up and fixes the deficit, puts every religion out of business, and figures out Hillary Clinton's true gender, maybe we can consider trust, until then, I'm not trusting someone with such a horrible body of work. Chipotle does a better job than God. At least there's value received for your money. How about In Chipotle we trust?

They are arguing that the Supreme Court doesn't make the law.
