Are you interested in volunteering for the upcoming sea turtle nesting season? If you like long walks on the beach, early in the morning (5:30am), and nature, we'd love to have you join us! We cover all of Walton County, except the state parks. You can volunteer one day a week or more. We are looking for committed volunteers who can walk in the rain (no lightening!) and are excited about nature! I know there are many of us in this area!
You would need to attend a training class at Gulf Coast State College on April 2 from 10-2. Your area coordinator would then walk and train you on the beach as well.

If this sounds like your cup of coffee.....there are several ways to let us know.

We look for a very busy season as we had last year! :D

The season runs from May to the end of October. It starts with nesting turtles, overlaps nesting with hatching nests in the middle there and ends with just hatching nests. It would be a 6 month commitment.
