Anyone see the American Idol auditions last night from Minnesota. These auditions are hilarious. Saw a few hopefuls last night but a lot of embarrassing auditions also. Tonight they are going to be in Seattle. Simon claims Seattle had the worst auditions of all the cities. Memphis will be on next week. :clap_1:

I felt sorry for them too, JR. But, sometimes I wonder if some of it's not "embellished"--just a thought. I don't care if it is, I still like the show. As far as the families go, maybe the apples don't fall far from the tree:idontno: ---again, just a thought.

Edit: I didn't mean for that to sound mean...I just meant maybe the families don't realize it either..that's what I should have said.

I knew what you meant. Mr. JR said the same thing, that the families are just as clueless too. Like the mother of the blond daughter in the gold satin blouse. VERY strange pair.

But Simon's remarks: non-human, bush baby, etc. I thought I was going to die!

And other than the times Paula turns her back to the contestant, she honestly seems kind and tries to soften the harsh remarks from Simon and Randy.

And the girl with the pink fishnet on her arms and legs, what was that all about?? Bizarre.

I agree, I love Simon but a few of his comments have been hurtfully mean. The bush baby/odd comment was going to far. I felt bad for him and was glad they were a little easier on his friend the big guy.

Did you see pink fishnet's boyfriend? They looked like a good fit.

Last night was something to watch that's for sure....just when you think you couldn't see any worse, out walks another.

I thought it was great when that hairdresser guy tried to put product in Simon's hair and the bodyguards descended. :floor:

The brother and sister from India were both fantastic. :clap_1:

I loved them! I was so happy to see that both of them got through to the first round. I also loved the look on the sister's face when Ryan asked the brother "Who did the judges like better?"

Mr. JR and I noticed how her expression literally dropped.

We always end up playing 'Spot the Theatre Kid" in the audition rounds. Both the cowardly lion girl, and the red guy who slaughtered BoRhap in Seattle were so faking it all in the name of performance art.
"Red" was interviewed on Star 94 this morning in Atlanta. They called him in Seattle and he is soooo for real. Sad. He just THAT slow that he has no clue he is being made fun of. He said "well they passed me through two rounds so I thought what the heck." Isn't that mean of AI. Those poor people who don't know any better!

If that is the hairdresser, he resembles Taylor just a small amount but needs to stick with being a hairdresser.

I caught a news story on "Idol" last night- about it being such a mean show-and I agree that it has become such a cruel circus. What is the point in having such obviously untalented people be on the show, other than to point fingers and laugh at them? I guess you could argue that it is their 3 seconds of fame, but I still don't see the point when I am sure there were plenty of people with real talent that could have been in their place, and actually competing, instead of being the butt of the judges' jokes. I think the worst part is being made fun of by people like those judges!

I have never been an Idol fan for this reason- it is just too ugly at the beginning of every season.

Sorry for my rant- back to regularly scheduled Idol programming.

Good points Jenay. I also think the producers want these untalented types on air for the ratings. I do enjoy the show itself but have trouble tolerating the try outs.

The other thing that bothers me, is where are the parents of these people? I have always been an encouraging mom. However I wouldn't give false hope to an obviously untalented child. Who would encourage their child into thinking they could be famous just to be belittled and crushed like this?
