Did anyone hear about Daniel Radcliffe performing in a revival of Equus?
This play gave me the creeps when it first came out--kinda sad plot line.
Anyway, check out buff Daniel:

Maybe.

I am waiting to see the movie with Will, and he is getting the book shipped straight to camp, so I will have to wait on that too, unless one of y'all reads it quick and loans it to me.

Will sounds just like Philippa when it comes to Harry Potter. She's going on vacation tomorrow with one of their girlfriends and they've ordered the book from the bookstore in the town they're staying at!! God forbid they should let a vacation keep them from so important.

Miss Kitty, I was really hesitant to read any of the Harry Potter books but I got sick and tired of Philippa hounding me so I finally gave in. Give them a go! They're not popular around the world for nuthin'.

I am anxious to see what you guys think of the movie. Dylan is at camp so I'm sure I'll be going again. We've always seen the HP movies opening day so Sam HAD to go. Like PV said, Sam's more excited about the book too! We still can't believe it's the last one! After seeing the movie I do want to read the Order of the Phoenix. ( I've only read 1-3) I'm sure there were many things that are in the book that were left out of the movie. One scene that was pretty awesome was an ending scene in the Ministry of Magic. Very cool in parts but a little bit of a let down in others.

I'm a Potter FREAK!!!!!!!!

The books are incredible. The movies are lightly based on the books. Especially the Order of the Phoenix Movie. I was very disappointed. All the important parts of the book were left out. I wish they'd remake it already with a different director. I was so mad after the movie I almost stopped at Booksamillion to cancel my order for book 7. But as I said the books are much better than the movies. If you are going to read the books, you have to read all of them in order, as there are clues and important characters in each.... I'm halfway through book six now (for the 2nd time). Want to finish it before book 7 comes out. I'll be there at midnight to pick up my reserved copy, kicking all those little brats out of the way. There's about 50 of us from work going to be there. This should be interesting!

I was so upset with this HP5 movie, that I had to go see another movie to clear it out of my head. You want to have some edge of your seat fun? Go see TRANSFORMERS!!!!! I laughed my arse off. Action packed, special effects were awesome. There were some moments that upset me though. I'm very intollerant of bigotry, and there were some negative images/moments about Latino, Indians (from India) and Iranians. I'm not sure if they were meant to be negative or making fun of the attitude that we ugly americans have towards people.

Despite that, I give it 4 out of 5 stars, compared to 2 out of 5 for Harry Potter. I've just got to come to terms with the fact that the movies have nothing to do with the books and get over it. This last one is so dark and depressing. I don't know how they are going to handle Movie 6- would need to have an "R" rating for violence.

I'm becoming so cynacle. I think I'll go have pina colada and lay in the hammock till the moment passes........:chill:

I haven't seen the new movie, but I did see an interview with Daniel Radcliffe the other day, and the "dark" question came up. The most important thing about Order of the Phoenix is that Harry is not only growing up, but starting to have anger and frustration about his situation- I mean really, who would want to be in Harry's position? I remember many people saying that the didn't like the "grown up" Harry after they read this book, but I think JK Rowling really kept it real by having him react in a normal way to a scary life, coupled with puberty. The poor kid!!

I have loved the movies, but they are a very poor substitute for the books. I really regret that Kate won't get to read the books first like her brother, but I plan to start reading them to her this winter.

After seeing the movie today, somehow this thread and the pics kept popping into my head. This was probably the first HP movie that didn't really knock my socks off. Having not read the book might have something to do with it. I've read 1-3.
The book (Order of the Phoenix) was my least favorite, and I actually liked this latest movie.
However, diehard fans of the book might be disappointed. Much is taken out.
Every now and then, I like a filmed version of a book better than the original written material, and this seems to be one of those times. But yeah, it's dark.
Not too much comic relief in the way of talking paintings or whatever.

In a somewhat ironic twist, rumor has it that in the last book, HP gets "killed off" by a horse.

Equus is coming to N.Y.C. in November after production finishes of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
So Radcliffe is jumping the pond to wave his magic wand in the Big Apple.
