Has anyone heard of this new database (opened May 2005)? By just typing in a name, you can get anyone's address (including former addresses), phone number and date of birth. I tried it, and I am shocked that this personal information can be made public! 😱 According to the site's owners, it's legal because the data comes from publicly available government records and commercial sources.
According to info I received, you can contact the site and ask that your name be removed. They then respond with an e-mail advising that you must send them a letter requesting your info's removal.
The website is http://www.zabasearch.com ; to have the info removed, the e-mail address given is info@zabasearch.com
If this info can be made public..what's next? Our social security numbers? Height/Weight? Measurements? I'm a little wary about asking that the info be removed, because in order to do so you have to give them your e-mail address as well! :idontno: 😱

Hey Smiling JOe! I now know where you live

That's weird. They have me being born in two different years. Both of which are wrong.

While that may be true, you certainly do not know which one is my primary address because it is not found on zabasearch.com
:floor::floor::floor:
One of those addresses is my brother's previous address.

My info does not even list me as being born. :floor: If you are paying for zabasearch.com, I would ask for your money back.

I should call them and get them to correct their mistake. :laughing1

How weird. My name and number are correct, but my address is wrong. I wonder where they get their information.

They have my old address from 7 months ago. I'm glad! I found another Mike Breen who lives in Henderson, NV about a block away from my ex mother in law. Creepy! 😀

Awful lot of "public record" info is now readily accessible via internet. Most counties in US (Walton, FL among them) have property and related tax records, and civil and criminal court records available online now.

Leave it to the government to get their info all screwed up!

Strangely enough, my sister's deceased husband's info is listed (he's been dead for 17 years!), but there's no record of her at all. Go figure! :idontno:

Yeah, I just discovered zabasearch the other day and it creeped me out.
I think what Ohiobeachbum says obtaining property and tax records is true, and yeah, leave it to the government to screw up someone's address.
I guess someone just came up with the software, and the rest was history.

I'm no defender of intrusions on privacy, but this is little more than I can get by calling 411 or flipping through the phone book.
Could someone who has an unlisted phone number give this a try and post back as to with whether or not the unlisted number shows up? That actually might be a basis for some sort of action.

Darlene is my middle name, not my nickname

My phone number is unlisted!!!! However, it does show up in this Zabasearch. Wonder what I can do about it!!!!!!

They have my age off by five years, so I know where they got it. When I run a 10K, I always subtract five years from my age so that if I happen to do well enough to be in the newspaper, no one will know my correct age.
Actually you can do better searches. Their searches are set up to look for "John" and "Doe," instead of "John Doe." So you get way too many hits.
It's still pretty scary that all of this info is out there. If you have a college student, try Googling him/her - I did and found some surprising things on one of those live journal sites.

Yeah, Google is almost the same as Zabasearch (if not worse!) if your number is listed. I have a college student (well actually, he just graduated) but all I found on him is his soccer team, no torrid LJ stuff.
A friend of mine has an unlisted number, but Zabasearch still had her. I guess if you really have nothing to hide, do not have a stalker, and have not posted your SS#, it is not that big a deal.
I am not about to retire from the internet, it's just kinda creepy and Big Brotherish.

Damn, I'm on that list 3 times. My phone numbers not listed but I can find a map right to my door! That's scary!

...and if you give me your address, I will give you a picture of your house.
:shock::shock: What?! Talk about scarey, not me, the technology.

I know... Amazing!! I'm too sheltered... this really creeps me out!! 😱
