Turnabout Dance Question

When the girl asks the boy to the dance, who pays for what? Does the boy give the girl flowers? I asked my son this. I don't want to wait 'til the very last minute and all he** break lose because we didn't order flowers, etc. He said he THINKS he's not supposed to buy anything. But I thinks he does, or even should!

I asked my young (cute) male physical therapist this a.m. and he said yes, the boy pretty much just goes ahead and pays for everything other than the cost of the dance ticket. I have no problem there but I'm still curious. What has eveyone else experienced?

When this happened to my son he asked what color she was wearing and what her flower preference was. This lets her know he's doing the flowers so she won't do it herself. (Some girls are afraid the date won't and get them just in case. Double flowers means they go to you mom) The girl bought the tickets to the dance and my son paid for everything else...dinner etc.

Post pics please:D

The first thing I did was to make sure all the girls were at the drawing for the lottery of who could take me to the dance. If a girl's name was drawn that I disliked, then I claimed a drawing malfunction and drew again. I buy both the girl and her mother flowers and tell the dad my life's ambition was to go to Seminary school.

If you believe any of this then you'll believe I'll be introducing Gore at the next global warming rally.

Like there was a girl you disliked!

The hardest part of asking a girl out was waiting for an answer after she finished laughing.

My daughter asked a friend to prom. While she planned to pay for eveything, he would not let her. I think this happens more often than not. Enjoy the evening....take pics!

Thanks for all this great info. I will make sure he pays for dinner (Applebee's!) and gets her flowers.

It's funny because I asked the other boy that we always give a ride home and he said he was so confused & had no idea. So I will pass the word on to these 2 casanovas!

LMAO, JR. I think what Audie really wanted was an iron. :idontno:

Back to the topic at hand, when I went to a turnabout dance in high school, I paid for everything, including dinner at The Pump Room, but he did get me flowers (but I kind of forgot about that after I caught him making out with another girl later in the evening. I think it was the one and only high school dance I ever went to!)

LOL!!! In some ways I wish this would happen to my son. I feel it's time for him to move on. It's getting too serious!

ya'll have it wrong - i got a new bed (because the old water tube bed exploded) and a new oven for christmas (because i bout burnt the kitchen up)...i am dreaming of a new washer/dryer.....maybe someday :D

every time we go out to eat or bring something home (which is often) i always pay, and then when i run out of money and ask mr audie for some cash, he says and i quote "what the hell did you do with all your money this week". i think i will start cutting his allowance in half and keep the other half for myself.;-)

I raised three sons, and you're right on as to how it's done. In each case where my sons were asked to a school dance by the girl, the girl bought the tickets and the boys paid for everything else, including flowers for the girl.:D

Yeah, we talked about it last night with our son. Even Mr. JR agreed (shock! I mean, it's coming out of our pockets) that other than the tickets, everything else should be paid for by the son. Once we heard that the tickets were $20/each, that's when we made the decision.

Don't worry when they get married it's cheaper to be the parent of the groom. Not cheap mind you, just cheaper.
