I'm starting a new thread because this is tangential to the "dog friendly stuff?" thread. It's clear by the posts and the photos that we have some serious dog lovers on this board.
I want to thank a homeowner in Rosemary Beach whose name I do not know for getting me interested in standard poodles. He has two absolutely gorgeous, black standard poodles. From the moment I met them, I knew that this was what I wanted for my next pet.
Today I was talking to a friend here in GA about our standard poodle puppies (coincidentally we independently purchased them without knowing that the other was). Someone had asked her if she had seen the two black standards on 30-A. She hadn't, and she asked me if I had, knowing that we are homeowners on 30-A. It amazed her when I knew the poodles' names and breeder. So, whoever you are that owns those two dogs, your dogs are famous. Thanks again for introducing me to them!

You are a very brave speller SJ...that's the one, but it always looks misspelled to me! You can spell D's and F's whatever you would like...you get to be the leader today!!!

Cracked up at your Big Dog sayings--Danes are Great! 🙂 Have thoroughly enjoyed every Dane I've met, and we've known a lot. Don't know why you couldn't see the other babies. I took the link from the younger one's breeder's site. I have not yet learned how to post photos, which might be just as well.

BTW SJ, when I use the term "Dawg," I am referring to that school in Athens. When I use the term "dog," I pronounce it like "dawg." Can't help it - born and raised in GA. So, for me, it's "frawg,", "lawg," etc., although I do say "blog" - the computer nerd in me overrides the Jawg-ja gurl.

One of the happiest moments ever was after closing on our house in sowal...not the closing itself, but about 15 minutes later, when we made a beeline to the county office to buy Bailey her own legal-beagle Walton County dog tag. That was the prize. She's just about the happiest dog on the beach.

Mine love the water too! Maddie and Lacey at Lake Texoma. I have never brought mine with me to Seagrove. The suburban is usually to full of stuff with the three kido's. Not to mention, the English Setter would probably swim out too deep, she thinks she's suppose to swim out as far as she can. LOL
