My mother and her best friend were constantly accused of reading the cards. Of course when you play the same game a couple hundred times you start to learn the answers.

My old roommate was English. He had the UK version. There's a lot of wacky stuff in that version!

My cousin just had twins! Fraternal boys!

One baby's first name is after the mother's cousin, uncle, and grandfather and the father's father's middle name. The baby's middle name is after the mother's stepfather and is also the father's middle name.

The other baby's first name is the mother's deceased father's name. It's middle name is the father's father's name and the mother's great uncle's name!

Or put more simply, hello to little John David and Jay Henry!
Hope that helps distract you Kitty!
 congrats!! I do love the names!!

If the Universe is defined as everything, how can it be that it is expanding? Wouldn't that area into which it is expanding already be part of the Universe?

Ummm...same reason that October, is the 10th month despite "Octo-" being a prefix that means "eight."

WITHOUT THE HELP OF ANY OUTSIDE RESOURCES:

Before our calendar was modified to its current configuration, September WAS the seventh month. In the Roman calander (which was later modified to Julian and then to Gregorian) there were only 10 months.

Stick your aglet in that, SinginChicken!
To me, it sounds like Julius Caesar and George Bush used the same "fuzzy math."

Your Mom uses fuzzy math.

The Romans, in the midst of their expansion (into the existing universe, which didn't really have the right to exist before it was properly conquered by Rome) didn't notice that their years were 60 days short. I reckon that someone finally figured out that Christmas and Independence Day were too close together. This is probably when department stores started decorating everything so dad-gummed early.

Suddenly history makes sense...

Florida has more coast line in the Gulf than TX, so why not the Gulf of TX, if you want to push out Mexico?

NoHall, you are a trip. I think you may be onto something with department stores and Michael's pulling out Christmas junk so early.

My local Wally-World is already selling Christmas stuff...
That on top of the fact that I will singing Christmas carols beginning the second week of Oct to prepare for our Christmas show is sure to mess with my head!

Maybe I should put little jack-o-lantern light strings on my Christmas tree...
