I just pulled Sam's iPod out of the washing machine. I picked up her shorts and added them to the load w/out checking the pockets. :bang: It's been a heck of a week. She had cheerleading clinics and tryouts along with her dance and she has rehearsals all weekend. I can't even be mad at her because it's mostly my fault. :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: Last summer I took it to the pool and it got a little damp and stopped working. It was still under warranty so I had it replaced. Now we're screwed. :pissed:

I hear Miss Kitty has one that has not even been used on a Sunday drive.😀 Has 1 song on it (I'll bet it's "Waltzing Matilda :funn🙂 I'd make her a BO and see how it goes. :idontno:

LET IT DRY OUT. Don't try to turn it on until then.

I did the same thing with my little iPod shuffle last fall. (It's a less complicated device, but I'm an optimist.) I sat it on one of those thirstystone coasters with the headphone jack facing down, and the next day it worked fine. Try it, at least.

Oh, I'm gonna try it. Who knows :idontno: I'll keep ya posted.

I feel your pain...Usually it's my cell phone that gets drowned or smashed under a stack of roofing or dropped from a tree.

Good luck!

I think the coaster thing sounds like a good idea. I think I have heard of putting cellphones (don't know about ipods) in the oven at a low temp.. You might google it, I am really not kidding... Ok, after typing that, I decided to google it and quickly found this http://www.geekasaurus.com/clint/blog/?p=818 maybe it would work for an ipod, this is for a cell phone. good luck.

Hairdryer might work better than the oven. Lowest oven temp is 150F, and that is too hot for the electronics.

The good news is Sam made the basketball cheerleading squad. They tried out for football and b-ball at the same time.

SJ, ipods don't have removable batteries or I would have taken them out. I already dried it some with a hairdryer last night. We'll let it set for a day or so before trying to turn it on.

Really? What do you do with it when the rechargeable battery dies?

From what I understand, the songs which you download from ITunes are a hassle to get back on the Pod. Good Luck.

I think you throw it away when the battery doesn't charge anymore. I think it'll last long enough and then you're supposed to buy the next generation iPod. Dylan' s is a year newer than Sam's and his battery stays charged twice as long as hers did.

It's not difficult to get songs back on your ipod. It's diffficult to get songs back on your computer from you ipod if your computer has crashed. I had to download some non-apple patch after this happened to us.

I had heard that since they have download restrictions for ITunes, that it was rather difficult to prove which songs you had already paid for, when it comes to restoring a mucked up IPod. That entire technology is one of the downsides of downloading music directly to the IPod rather than your puter where you can make back up copies. However, I am not an IPodder, so I don't know anything other than what I hear about it from IPodders.

I don't have an iPod but my smarta$$ kids do. ;-) ;-) So SJ, just curious, do you copy all your CD's to your puter? :idontno: I guess I could listen to my tunes a lot more if they were all in here.

Oy, OL, that stinks! If that happened to me, I'd honestly sit down and cry, no lie. (Hey, I'm writing song lyrics!) NoHall gave great advice about giving it time to dry out and not trying to turn it on until; I've heard of this working with some electronic device, though which one escapes me. Maybe it was the Rabbit...? But I digress. Good luck, and let us know if you ever dry out. I mean, if the iPod works again.
