for Paula! I drank this nectar last night and thought of our own Paula! It was delicious, but I still hope to sample some of Paula's homemade "juice" (hopefully she will hide it better next time!!!) 😀

We left Dallas on Monday and arrived in Milan on Tuesday. At his time, I am not sure what day or time it is. ( we are 7 hours ahead of CST). We walked all around the city and saw more shoes and handbags than even BR could shake a stick at!!! Saw Leo's The Last Supper this morning...it was unbelieveable to see it in person. A wonderful man picked us up and drove us to Bellagio on Lake Como this afternoon. George's place is between here and the city of Como. He will be very fortunate to see me while I am here. Tomorrow we begin to explore this beautiful spot. The water of the lake is around 68-69 degrees, so I will only experience it by boat. ;-)

Ciao for now!!!

Well, I'm late as usual...
Yep, takes a week. I use good vodka. Made it with everclear once and didn't care for it. I do make kahlua every year with everclear though.
Peeling all those lemons is a pain in the butt, but it's worth it!

THX! Goin' with Vodka in my Limoncillo...'cuz Eyebrows are a GOOD thing...
makes 4 better winkin' & wagglin' 😀

Nothing says funn like drinking a highly flammable liquid:lol:
Speaking of highly flammable, do you watch Grey's Anatomy? In one of the episodes last night, a patient on oxygen lit up a cigarette and burned off his face.:yikes: One of those things they don't remind you not to do while on oxygen.

Kitty.....did you join the protest and sign George's petition today?

Clooney was among some 300 townspeople who signed the petition against the planned construction in the town of Laglio on Lake Como, according to organizers.

Lake Como is a beautiful place.
My husband loves grappa but I prefer limoncello, though both should be taken in moderation--ask Danny Devito. ;-)
Miss Kitty, I am so glad you are enjoying yourself. It sounds like a wonderful trip.

I don't remember much about Lake Como. It was so romantic that we were in the hotel room a lot.;-) We have very fond memories of both of our visits there.:funn:

Si!!! I had them for lunch yesterday at the Villa d'Este. Probably the best food I have had since arriving. They were filled with ricotta and vegetables. I hope to find them on a menu again. I also had grilled wild lobster. This is probably because they give you the old fashioned menus where only Mr. Kitty saw the prices! 😀 The Villa d'Este is where the high rollers stay. Low rollers like us go for lunch! ;-)

:lolabove: ...saw that too, Mango! When I spoke with George, I likened his situation to the woes of SoWal. ;-) We saw George's "little" spread on our way to lunch. The windows were open and someone was watering the flowers, but alas it was not GC. His loss. We also floated by Donatella Versace's place...very nice. I can only think about Maya Rudolph on SNL doing the best imitation of that bottled blonde mess!!!

 ...might as well go stay in a motel in LaGrange.

Okay...went to the bar here last night and broke down and had a cocktail. Of course I ordered the Planter's Punch. It was a frothy affair...not like what I am used to. We ended up chatting with a couple from England who have visited this hotel for 40 years!!!! :yikes: So, then Mr. K orders us another round! Glad I wasn't paying! The weather has been overcast with a few showers until today. Cool and clear and BELLA! We are off to see the Villa Mermy spoke of earlier, Villa Del Balbianello. I am interested in finding out why it was used for a space flick as a location...(Star Wars 2).

I ordered zucchini flowers every time I had a chance. Yum!

Low rollers -- right.

But I know what you mean. I felt pretty much like a high roller being in Monte Carlo, sunbathing topless by the pool and having salespeople bring items from my shopping list from Gucci, etc., so that I wouldn't take to waste any time in the sun while shopping. Then I looked out into the harbor and saw the huge private yachts lowering their smaller boats into the water to ferry their Rolls Royces to the dock. That put me in my place.

No problem -- I thank God for all of my blessings.

Beach Runner: I love fried zucchini flowers!

Miss Kitty: Definitely try the prosciutto and mascapone cheese pizza if it's still in fashion this year (it's my avatar photo right now). Truly awesome. I ate one about every other night when we were in Italy last year (and then hired a trainer and have been working out with her twice a week to make up for that summer...).

The only grappa I ever had was in Italy and I thought it tasted much like gasoline would taste if I drank it. Horrible stuff. But it could have been the cheap stuff because I was in my early 20s. Perhaps there's a higher end grappa that tastes much better.

I'm in Hong Kong now getting ready to teach this week and then off to Maine for a lobster vacation. Veeery good food around here in Hong Kong. But my heart still belongs to Tuscany and SoWal. There's a Red Bar in Hong Kong, too.

How boring. Georges' windows were open and no f-bomb? :idontno:
Don't understand the need for a new parking lot.

And a Paris Hilton.

Have funn in LV, Herm?s (love the orange stuff - wonder why? :idontno: ), and VC&A land. Mr. K. needs to add to your collection!

I always cry when I'm standing at the Place de la Concorde, looking at the La Tour Eiffel in one direction, the Champs d'Elys?es and the Arc de Triomphe in another, and the Louvre behind me. I guess it's because I always read about theses places in books as though they were part of a fairy tale that really didn't exist and never thought I'd be lucky enough to go there. Once I was so excited that I stood with my head out of the sunroof going down the Champs d'Elys?es (sort of like Tom Hamks in "Big"). Embarrassed the he*l out of Beach Jacket and D.

Just got back from shopping. No labels that I had heard of, but bought the cutest dress (needed one for a wedding) and tops at a department store that was outstanding...Galeries Lafayette by the Opera House. Then sat outside and had a coffee and watched the people...my favorite sport! VC&A is right next door! I agree...it is so beautiful it can make you cry.

My heart will be in Paris with you.

 ...wish you were here. I would love to see Paris with you and your spirit!!! I am off to the L'Orangerie to finally see Monet's Water Lillies! The conceirge checked and found out the museum was open this afternoon! I am a lucky Kitty!

This is good reading with a cup of java. I am so happy you are having a good time, but sorry Mr. K is stuck in meetings. At least you can do exactly what you want to do when you want to do it. 😀 Enjoy the Monet painting, I hope it speaks to you.

Limonecello has an intense lemon flavor with sweetness. Kinda makes your mouth pucker. I always order it as an after-dinner drink when we go to a Northern Italian restaurant, like Antica Posta in Atlanta.
