4th of July plans

We're going downtown to watch the baseball game (against Louisville 😀 ), watch the fireworks after, and then home to pack for SoWal!!!

One of my neighbors puts on a bigger show than downtown.:yikes: Boats park all around his inlet for the show. :clap: We have practically front row seats right from our balcony. :cool: We will definitely be calming down our skiddish dog. She 😱 :sick: fireworks!

Not doing much. Husband has to work from 3:00 until 11:00 that night. We probably will go get something to eat earlier in the day though. Maybe some barbecue or spaghetti.

This is some serious biziness here and a thread akin to the maters.
Festivities start tomorrow. Been planned for months. Depression will set in after watching post 4th displays and parades. The men will be sulking for weeks. Appetites gone. Sitting around reminiscing about those wonderful palm mortars and finales. The music is almost ready. The video screen getting set up. The bonfire wood is piled up.
On my way out for my 4th shopping spree at the grocery store. They need to eat prior to or they will wither away afterward.

I'm still trying to decide if I'm gonna work that day and take Friday off. It's mine and mr. dd's 10th anniversary, but I'm not getting any vibes that he's got anything special planned. Probably just dinner on Tuesday night. Speaking of which, being the loving and thoughtful wife that I am, I haven't gotten him a gift yet....y'all got any suggestions? :idontno: :idontno: :idontno:

I guess the party's at my house. That's what I've heard. I think I am buying bar-b-q from our local joint down the street and asking everyone to bring a side dish.

I don't know if there's fireworks this year or not. :idontno: I'll probably be asleep anyway. It's kind of wack when the 4th is in the middle of the week and everyone works the next day. We are headed to S.C. on Friday for our BFF's son's wedding.:wub: I suspect that'll be more like the 4th of July party we are accustomed to. 😀

I have nothing planned. Anyone got anything??? Was thinking of Rosemary for fireworks but if it is a frog choker like today they wont be seen very well.

I'll be spending the day trying to distract my 4 yr old. (parade and regular festivities) who will be asking me "is it time to go to the airport yet?" over and over. We have 2 teenage relatives flying in around 5 pm from Spain for the month of July. And nothing excites my 4 yr old like someone coming to visit!

The youngest gull is having her own college party at MTSU and thought the oldest was going to her in laws but they decided not to go til the weekend :idontno: 😀 :clap: It's all good but I just :wub: your sig this am. I am just remembering crossing the 'anger bridge' last nite while rubbing ribs for today and the guys, son in law and hubbabubba, were out in the front yard shooting off firecrackers causing my 55 lb dog to crawl up me between me and the kitchen counter. I am sorta germophobic and was 😱in' out that dog hair might be flyin' around all my ribs. Hubbabubba says he forgot about how she freaks out. ;-) So then when son in law came in, like a jerk, I told him if he gets hair in his ribs its cuz of his dang firecrackers. 😀 Then I notice toy stuffing all over the place and my 2 visiting grand dogs have my skeered babies' favorite pink and green squeaky squirrel all tore up :shock: See those 2 have to get the squeakers out of everything within seconds. Dang! I forgot to move everything.:roll: Oh yeah,cuz I was at the confounded grocery store again:bang: So I'm really tryin' to get back to and stay on the 'friendship shore'. Yip! Headed over to a friend's house on the lake. Picnic supper, watermelon & s'mores, put the ankle-biters in lifejackets and throw 'em in the cove.

Going to a friends house on Tuesday night for a big Shin Dig.

Having an impromptu "Teenie Wienie" party, which I fervently hope is something that involves martinis and hotdots! Neighbors on Bainbridge Island invited me to this, then asked if I would be willing to have it on my deck, since it is a large one and waterfront. Their deck is being rebuilt...carpenter ants...yikes! So I used this as an excuse to replant all my flower boxes and containers, scrub down the deck, put out Old Glory in duplicate. We will cook outside, then watch the fireworks in Seattle from across the water. What is it about islands that they all go so nuts around the Juy 4th holiday? I love it! All day yesterday and today.

Happy Inependence Day to all of you. I will be thinking about the fireworks at Grayton, not to mention the parade. And whoever you are staying at Conch Out this week, have a ball there. Yahoo!
