...for my lost youth. I bought my first pair of cheapie reading glasses yesterday. And I'll be danged if those things don't actually make the words clearer. :bang:

Do yourself a favor and just go on and buy a pair for every room, each vehicle, and each purse, this will make life much easier.

The world looked so much rosier with your margarita glasses on.
Where do I get me those?

I wish they sold those glasses for seeing far away Pea. I can see just fine up close, but I got yelled at by my neighbor for not waving the other day, but I didn't know who she was. :idontno:

Look on the bright side: Maybe you can find your youth again, now that you can see...?

I thought it was adding insult to injury when I had to start using reading glasses. I mean, I already wear contacts! Sheesh.

I second that! It does make life much easier. Also, spend a little bit more to get reasonable quality. The first few pairs I bought, the lens fell out of one or the other sides almost immediately :floor: You know, getting older ain't for sissies!

Did you buy the lovely chain attachment so you can wear them around your neck? You know, the librarian used them in high school. I bet you look smart in your chic glasses.

Hey Tina Fey wears glasses and she's cool! Enjoy

OK I've officially hijacked this thread. The other downer is being called "maam" by some twerp who looks older then your youngest child!

And whats with these senior vitamins. My hair is not silver, my vitamin doesn't need to be either.

:lolabove: I always look around for my mom when they say that. I told one little waiter if he called me that again I was going to start taking from his tip.

Ditto to that:lolabove:! You have my sympathies Pea...one nice thing about the eyesight going is that you can't really see those tell-tale lines that begin to make their appearance...that is until you can't see at all to put on your makeup and you have to buy one of those horrid 400X magnifying makeup mirrors! :yikes:

Oh, honey--you're still doing better than I am. I've worn coke bottles since I was eight. A couple of nights ago I took out my contacts, put on my glasses, read a little while, and went to sleep. The next morning the glasses were gone.

I put in my contacts and searched again. Gone. After work I pulled out the bed and nightstand. Gone. Looked in the pillowcases, between the matress and headboard, in the covers. Gone.

That night I was pulling up my blanket and felt a wad. The glasses were woven through the holes in the thermal blanket. No idea how they got there from the nightstand.

In other words, I've had vision problems and dementia for years...

Good riddance, after all of this time as the ONLY member of our immediate family to have PERFECT eyesight, no glasses or contacts for all of this time.

Just kidding--you know I love you. Welcome to our world

I started buying these last year. Now, everywhere I go, I start looking for funky looking reading glasses. I have a pair in almost every room!

But I WILL NOT buy elastic waisted pants or SAS shoes or get one of those perms like the ladies in church!!!!!
