I'm trying to figure out if a table will fit in our oddly shaped dining room (9x19). How much space are you supposed to allow for chairs to be moved around? Is there a quick rule of thumb?

We started out with a skinny Storehouse table that became a desk, too!
Ours became a sewing table and even less used than it was as a dining table.

How about one that is connected to the ceiling with power lifts that raise and lower it for people to sit down and stand up?
Plus makes it easy to clean under, you know: shrimp hulls, cracker crumbs, beer bottles and all that.
Too, then you can use the DR for a dance hall after dinner.
Gee!! I am so smart!!!![]()

I vote for this idea. Bdarg can engineer it. Rapunzel has the music. We might have to raise the light fixture a bit.

Hail yes!!! That's easy. Bolt a lamp to the center of the table.

Didn't Tootsie say there was a pole dancing class starting soon? Maybe you could put one in the far end of the room for practicing

Being from Louisiana, maybe you should go with the crawfish boil style table with sawhorses, plywood and a big whole in the middle for the trashthis idea gets my vote!![]()

OH, Oh, OH,
and a big roll of butcher wrap at one end to roll out for a table cloth. Wrap up the crawfish heads and throw the whole damn thing in the trash!!
Then crank it up to the ceiling and let the pole dance begin. I can see it now!!!
Folks will come from miles around:rofl:
