In 24 days we will be heading south. Friday night, the 24th, in Mobile, Bellingrath the next morning. Hope to visit the Battleship and the U.S.S. Drum Friday afternoon after checking in and resting a bit. The 25th through Sept. 1st in Sowal, would like to have the 2nd there also. Hope they offer us an extra day. Cannot wait. My countdown has begun.

Lady D, today the beach was deserted, water clear as a swimming pool, temperature perfect, some waves but nothing to worry about.
Haven't been back on this thread for a while. 5 days and counting now. Hope the water is perfect when we get there. But as to the shark sighting recently, might forgo the water.

Don't do that...if it's clear, just keep a look out. The warm clear water is one of my favorite things.

Well, unfortunately, we only have a Honda Civic. And I know you do travel with alot of stuff from your last trip down there.
We don't know why we didn't think of doing this before on our previous trip down but our back seat folds down for more storage. So that is what we are going to do this year. Fold it down so our trunk won't be so crammed full.fartblossom

I didn't see LadyD on the beach today;I hope she is having a good time and chilling out. Inlet Beach was so perfect today...clean sand, few humans, crystal clear water free of seaweed with just enough wave action to make it fun. Even LadyD would have a tough time finding a flaw (well, we can stay tuned for that ) GREAT day at the beach!

Skunky, we didn't get in at the beach house until around 3:15 in the afternoon. We went out on the beach around 4:00 that afternoon. We were out on the beach twice a day after that. Around 9:30 to 10:30 in the morning and then again around 4:00 in the afternoon sitting in our beach chairs. And we took a walk every morning around 10 to 10:30. You probably walked past us several times possibly. That is if you walked down as far as the old Camp Helen pier or Pinnacle Port. We stayed down at that end of Inlet Beach.
